New Poll - Live-Action Adaptations

This poll came from my own head (which might be why it's so bad) because I don't really like most of the current suggestions...(for one reason or another). That statement was not meant to offend anyone who suggested something recently. So what's your reaction when a live-action adaptation of a series is announced? (I can probably guess the end result of this one...)
I liked the Initial D movie though! (Although it probably puts people off that it's originally in Cantonese, but I'm ethnically Cantonese, so I was able to understand without the subtitles~)
You can discuss this poll and any movies adaptations you hated/loved with us on our forum here:

And we really need more poll suggestions, so drop on by here:

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Element?
Choices:
Fire - votes: 2853 (18%)
Water - votes: 2860 (18%)
Earth - votes: 830 (5.2%)
Air/Wind - votes: 3482 (21.9%)
Void - votes: 1867 (11.8%)
Light - votes: 893 (5.6%)
Dark - votes: 2055 (12.9%)
Metal - votes: 610 (3.8%)
Wood - votes: 432 (2.7%)
There were 15882 total votes.
The poll ended: August 8th 2009
Air beats everyone by at least 600 votes. Airbender anyone? Following up is Water beating Fire (just barely too). I guess Water is just meant to put out Fire. Then Dark creeps up... along with Void... What's with the depressing stuff? Too bad Light is so far behind. I guess the Sith have beat the Jedi, eh?

Most manga/anime movies aren't good because of the 2 hour time limit, the subject matter doesn't transfer well to the real world, or cause they just want to rewrite the story inorder for them to suit the demands of their investors not the fans or critics. The latter being the Initial D movie, it's a movie about racing and teenagers so there really should be nothing to hold it back from being as close to the original as possible. But besides some characters being completely different from their manga counterparts the racing itself was so boring, generic, and had nothing to do with drifting.

I think the "being completely different from their manga counterparts" is a rather huge one. I mean honestly you aren't going to find many well cast characters in live action movies/shows, based on manga. Another problem is the special effects/clothing which will just end up looking cheesy for the most part.
Of course the biggest problem of all is how the source material isn't incorporated or just altogether thrown out but this can be seen in pretty much any movie that was adapted from something else.

love your comments on the votes^^
If its humans in general its gonna suck. I mean if you want real drama with real human actors go watch a soap u newb.

My response: "I don't watch live action movies anymore because the trend goes to show that either they're book adaptations or have plots that I'm not interested in". ^.^;

My general reaction is to laugh, not because I think it will suck but because people get into such a tizzy pre-production. Before directors or actors are even announced. That said this doesn't include ATLA because Shyamalan is well he did some stupid things imo.
Anyway, I don't think I've seen any live action movies. However, if you include dramas I can get excited. I can't wait til the Skip Beat drama finally gets underway. ISWAK, Goong, Nodame were all good live action adaptations.

Well, I voted Air, but it's not really due to airbender... I mean, I hardly ever watched it. But in a few games I've played, the element of air represents the mind, and I tend to like more intellectual things...
Then there's also Luc, the True Wind Rune bearer from the Suikoden series... you can't NOT like him, y'know? Uber-mages for the win...

I like to think the people who voted for void were like, what's up with this random poll? Scissors-paper-stone Avatar style? Or just the first thing that popped into their heads was the dude with the brain in Berserk..
People should give budgets to directors with original ideas of their own and let them tell their stories, instead of re-making the same stuff, otherwise things will be really boring by the time we're in our 80s 😀
Making live-action TV series of books or comics or manga or anime is a much better idea. Someone in Germany or Czechoslovakia really should get a deal together to make a Monster TV series. You wouldn't even need much of a budget..

Actually, void appears in several different mediums. It's also known as Aether, Quintessence, and, in some cases, Lightning. In Zero no Tsukaima, it's the element that governs life and death. In the traditional Greek/Roman elements, it represents Heaven. There's a few other types as well... try looking it up.
