Allow "no group" releases

There's really no point in rejecting releases released under the "no group" tag. On the contrary, this totally defeats the very purpose of this site which is supposed to be a database of all manga and novel releases.
A "no group" group would be essentially the same as the widely used "/a/nonymous" group anyway. And that one's allowed.
The point of applying the correct group and date for a group is traceability. Especially as direct links to groups are verboten. That´s why /a/nonymous was allowed. You (and the admins) can trace them back to something. The group link there goes directly to 4chan if you have the correct script installed for example.
We might as well give up if we sack accountability. I further remember a variation of a no group in the database. The admins clearly didn´t see the overall benefits. The isn´t all releases allowed site either. RIPs are forbidden for example. (Web-)Novel releases are even more convoluted...
Edit: I forgot to mention all the approved mangadex based groups. Having releases admitted to the MU database has never been easier. The only noteworthy scanners shit out of luck right now are the e-hentai renegades.

Releases with an unknown/unnamed group were typically labeled with a question mark, e.g. Full Flower Garden. There seems to be ~670 such releases still in the database. If I recall correctly, they changed the policy allowing such releases around the time they removed all the download links from the site, so it could have been that "? releases" required a download link for approval.
(I know Full Flower Garden had a download link on MU way back when, but I'm not going to bother checking all the others for confirmation.)

Pretty much agree. There are dozens of chapters released under Mangadex's "no group". Completeness >>> Traceability.

Not every /a/nonymous release actually has anything to do with /a/ though. Much less actually having a thread/download link for every release.
And if we're talking about traceability just use the mangadex "no group" group link. https://mangadex.org/group/657/no-group
Let me just quote the rules:
Updated 1/21/18: A MangaDex group link can substitute as a website
Thanks. I had a look at the first and last page of the Scanlators section (amongst others) but "?" wasn´t there due to being kicked and it was driving me nuts.
I wonder what will happen to MangaDex on MU if the site goes under or changes it´s model. You never know what the future holds. Otakumole was for example kicked as a group when it went "private". What an odyssey that topic was...
Long story short:
You didn't specify a group and instead placed a "?"
All releases must have an associated group that is in our database.

The site demands some kind of accountability when you submit chapters. There is a person on the other end checking after all and we don´t want to swamp them with needless confusion if releases are to be approved in a timely manner.

"Accountability" is a hard argument to make when you cannot find releases that are even listed on this site. Have you ever tried searching for some releases, especially older releases? I had a Hell of a time finding Cosmo Police, and (0.0.0)(0.0.3) still evades me. Then, there's also series like Black Jack which are actually missing chapters despite being listed as "complete". Heck, even for the more popular series, like the original S.A.O. webnovel from 2005, that's completely scrubbed from the net (Unless you can find those mythical Chinese translations that I hear are floating around).

That argument doesn't apply because all the releases listed here were legit at the time the release itself was submitted to the database. It isn't our responsibility to keep alive releases made 10+ years ago. And I'm not going to go through thousands of releases to try and remove ones that don't exist anymore.

Sorry, I had to do it.
Black Jack isn´t "Completely Scanlated", leave that box alone. RIPs are´t scanlations and were never recognized as such here. The VIZ translation is complete on the other hand, as the "English Publisher" box states. 2 boxes, 2 purposes and kind of the reason why you can search for "licensed manga".
I don´t see anything wrong with setting the Completely Scanlated to yes if an anonymous group finished a scanlation, even if they aren´t MU groups. Are there official rules about that?

You can still mark it as "Completely Scanlated" even if the release isn't listed on MU.

Is that a no? Care to give a reason?
