I usually watch the anime first, because it's the motion pictures that capture my attention, and the manga's the one that seals my interest (and because it's more often than not better than the anime, I just grow to appreciate the series a lot more!).

Manga, because of story. Storyline is the most important factor when I choose what to watch or read, and mangas tend to have much better storyline, or at least a longer one, than the anime. Also, since its straight from the author, there is no pointless fillers that makes you just angry...

But of course, that doesn't mean I don't like watching Anime, esecially if the Anime follows the manga.

When I read a good manga, I'll probably dont watch the anime because its never as good as the manga...
Example:
I read Gantz and its one of my favorite mangas (guess why 😀 ).
I watched only one episode of Gantz and thought "WTF?!".
Same with Naruto. An Anime of Blame! would be rediculous. The art is the magic not the action scenes ... thought it would be great to see a weapon fire a hole of 80 km length into a wall (well its more like he's destroying a city ^^)

Most of the time I start from the manga first, because as far as I know the anime is released after the manga

i dont watch anime anymore ,because most of it is crap compared to manga!

I used to watch anime a lot, but nowadays I prefer manga.

depends which comes first. if an anime is based on a manga, i read. if a manga is based on an anime, i watch.

For the most part, its one or the other for me, not both. In which case I'd go for the anime.
Why I do this, umm, I guess I started with anime before manga, so I'm biased. Very generally, the manga and the anime of a series are similar (of course there are exceptions). I can't afford to do both. I also have the tendency not to re-watch or re-read something I've already seen/read (whether its manga/anime or not), so having both the anime and manga is a little over kill for me. Not that I haven't re-watched something before.

Manga mostly, depends what i come across first

Well I started reading manga because of anime but now I usually read the manga first but sometime I watch the anime and read the manga concurrently 😀 It all depends.

It matters more what I come upon first or more within my ability to get 😃

I picked watching anime, i'm not good in searching manga titles thats why i wait for the anime adaptation and if the story gets interesting i'd read the manga 8D
