It's melodramatic: it's been that way right from the start, and it's likely to stay that way till the end. Hence, it's unsurprising that some readers get tired - especially if you're used to the kind of manga that has climax-and-resolution cycles.

Personally, I'm quite patient with the manga, so I can sustain reading interest. Also helps if you're an avid fan of Korean drama, because this is it in print and pictures, basically.
