I have a hard time finding hentai cause I'm picky with it. But yes, I read it. As far as I know, I have no girlfriends who read/watch porn. It's sad, we can't share our favorites 😔

There's that annoying idea that it's okay for men to read/watch porn but it's not okay for women. And that thought process is ingrained in many of my friends' minds. My guy friends highly appreciate the fact that if they make a dirty joke, I'll probably make a dirtier one. Though most of them seem to jump the first time haha.

Well, among some people, it's the other way around. If a man is obsessed with porn (talks about it all the time, etc), that means he's a loser in society/having nothing else better to do/immature/uncool. If a woman likes porn, that means she's open about sexuality and not old-fashioned/boring, and that's a good thing. I guess it depends on the circle of people. There is porn made for women, don't they know?

Yeah, double-edged sword for both men and women, depending on the person assuming (and it doesn't have to be gender specific). Everybody knows that those smutty erotic/romance novels are made for women. They don't count them as porn? Porn is a broad term.

i don't really agree with you for example, would you really want a girl who just loves to read hentai that includes scat to be your gf? and a girl who doesn't read hentai at all might be for instance scared of any sexual act (just a wild example) would you stilll want her as GF?

and you might think that a boy that isn't interested with hentai as a romantic type guy~~

and for ones who read hentai, i would say that is what guys do~~

and of course there is always porn if you don't want to read hentai. so i don't think that any one would really judge someone merely considering the hentai...

I don't see why people (not gender specific) should be judged based on whether they are interested in hentai or porn. But I do think I can know something about those who judge others this way. 😐

I don't read men's eromanga because I really don't like the way the characters are drawn. Way too many ridiculously-big female parabola and male genitalia flopping around. It makes me feel uncomfortable the way the girls are portrayed as complete sex objects, more love dolls than human beings, although I guess that's the point. I don't have anything against people that read it, although I can't help judging people that read certain kinds.

I like redikomi, women's eromanga, which tends to get bunched in with "smut" on this website and which not many people here seem to know about. Yes, unlike most smut, redikomi is definitely porn. It's just a different kind of porn. It's told from the female perspective and focuses on her feelings and emotions. The art is more shoujo, with slim, ectomorphic bodies and elegant faces, and the erotica focuses more on the feelings than on body fluids and privates.

I guess it's more like really porny paperbacks with pictures than anything else.

If something is drawn with shoujo smut art, I know I definitely won't read it. I hate that type of art. And I don't see why it can't be told from a male perspective even if it targets a female audience. Who wants to care about a boring female protagonist? They should really make men sex objects for women's porn. It's simple - just reverse the gender roles of a hentai or make a male version of Virgin Costume. That doesn't take much creativity and you get products. 🤣

Redikomi sounds like "lady comi" and indeed it is. I am sure many members on here who constantly read shoujo/josei are familiar with that type you talked about. Even I have encountered a few. Usually the plot is more pointless compared with a normal romance manga. You consider it explicit because it focuses mainly on sex. I don't see how it's different from most smut. Isn't most smut like that? The only difference is how much skin they show. Some more, some less. 😮 And it's usually the women who show skin. 😲 Don't know why they don't make a reverse hentai instead?

I think what is porn really depends on perspective. If ones reads a lot of hentai then anything not as explicit is not porn to him/her anymore.
