Ah, so AEJ3145 is Elle's friend that she was talking to on the phone? Join in, the both of you! Offer your thoughts and opinions. Are women innately less interested in porn (and, by implication, in sex), or is it just a cultural phenomenon?

The more the merrier! And I mean that in a completely innocent, non-ulterior way. Not implying group lesbian orgies in swimming pools, or anything of the sort.

...

Damn, where's my copy of Wet when I need it?

haha, but you /thought/ of it. 😉 Even if it crossed your mind afterwards!

um... that's why I lurked? A lot of these ideas are new to me. I agree that we probably are driven quite a lot more than we're given credit for. We do think about sex and such a lot. I'm just not sure if its quite as much as guys?

Ah, and also you use large words! haha, innately? I'll have to look it up. 😉

(and yes, she is my telephone friend 😉

Yes, right! Spot on, gal!

I think we all know what that spot is. Ahem.

Errr no? I was being pure-minded when I said that, really!

Quote from yuri21

Ooh and some of those old romance stories were REALLY erotic.

Talk about it! Some of that stuff qualifies as soft porn. I remember being a widdle twelve-year-old and discovering The Clan of the Cave Bear... I was like, "Wtf is going on?" Eventually, that changed to, "Damn, that's hot!" And then to, "I need to get me some girls."

Mmm... Soft porn? Hmmm... a lot of the stuff I read was pretty explicit so I guess it was more along the line of "nearly" hardcore porn. ^^;;

And not to mention all those adult fiction(books for adults) I read as a child. What's "Clan of the Cave bear"?

😀

Elle, stop lurking and join in! The water's nice!

And I have absolutely no ulterior motives when I invite ladies to join me in my -- er, discussions. No ulterior motives at all!

rolls her eyes Yeah, right! 😀

What's "Clan of the Cave bear"?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Clan_of_the_Cave_Bear

In relation to this topic, basically an adult book that continues several explicit(?) sex scenes each book.

I read some hentai cause i was curious about 'em, guess what ! i actualy liked it! 😲 , this one was very funny Fall in Hole in Wall Girl

Haha! I love that one! The story is hilarious, and the sexy stuff is done in a way to compliment and develop the character, rather than the character being built and developed around sex.

pearlesque, it's so refreshing to see such a good writer on the internet! (just had to say that)

This is such an interesting topic, and I completely agree with pearlesque. I have to admit that I do like hentai, and I'm a girl. I think for me it has to do with maturity and general life experience. When I was younger, I probably would have been offended by it, mostly because of how it's ingrained into us on how to react. Even though I reject a lot of society's "ideals," I still mentally deal with how our culture (western, especially united states) has hammered certain ideals into our heads: a woman has to get married, and have babies; a woman has to be both the virgin and the whore; a woman has to like chic flicks (lol).

Of course, none of my friends know of my interests, or else they would think I was a complete "freak" even though if you were to meet me in real life I seem overly normal. I'm brave, but not that brave, and I don't have a real need to talk with them about it, so it's not like it's a loss for me, though.

Anyway, I am choosy about the hentail I like: no rape, tenticals, woman crying, NO Guro. I really don't like the ones where they hate it at first then all of a sudden like it, because that's really never going to happen. I really don't care for Yaoi, but I'll read straight and Yuri. I don't like incest, kind of grosses me out.

I just like it when both partners are enjoying themselves. Surprisingly, there is a lot of this kind of hentai out there, as my hard drive could show you! You can find out by looking on here, or if you see sample pictures, or even the names. Sometimes, it's obvious by the name what will happen. And if I see a sample picture of the woman bound up with a sad face or crying... I usually stay away.

I guess what's better about hentai than porn generally is that it's more sexually varied, that it's not just: bam! a hard fuck and then you're done. And, with Hentai there's usually a story. Sometimes... lol

I don't mind if it's explicit or not, but if you're are interested in seeing some Hentai that won't scare you right off the bat, you should try:
The mangaka KOBAYASHI Takumi, author of Virgin na Kankei
The mangaka TANAKA Yutaka (he wrote Ai Ren, which isn't hentai, but is other stuff is)
The mangaka HATSUKI Kyo, author of Love Junkies
Also, Futari Ecchi, the "ultimate" manga sex guide (lol!)

None of the those are really really hardcore Hentai, and some may argue they're just Ecchi, but if you're curious, but don't want to be scared, those are good to try out.

eww, ewww and... ewwwww!!!!!!! i really have to wonder what type of person that is that would find guro anywhere near erotic...

sorry about the girls. they aren't real girls then. uh.. cough ahem... LOL oh well. i guess they can't appreciate a sensitive type of guy.

it's always good to try something once (EXCEPT Guro!). The sweetest is actually by TANAKA Yutaka. If you want to be really sad and moved, read his story Ai Ren.

thank you
yeah, I agree, you don't know until you try it. So its not right to judge things beforehand.

I agree with you, Elle. I absolutely refuse to diss anything I haven't tried -- and tried a lot. 😀

In the spirit of -- ahem -- discovery, I've read quite a bit of guro. I discovered that I enjoyed some kinds of guro, and not others; it basically depended on the artist's preoccupations, and whether they matched up with mine. Suehiro Maruo and Shintaro Kago both made me think, so I loved them. Uziga Waita made me laugh my socks off (yes, guro can be funny! Think South Park funny!) so I loved his work, too. Jun Hayami a genius, but his (her?) guro frightened me so badly that I had nightmares afterwards. Let's just say that I keep lots of chocolate around in case of emergencies.

My guro collection is quite substantial. If anyone wants a piece of it, just PM me and I'll send you my stuff.

Damn it, I can't believe GuroTaku shut down... I used to depend on them for my guro! And for a fair bit of my bestiality and lolicon, too!

Ah, my bygone heroes.

Lemme go check if their site is back up again...
