It's a fruit, but is used as a vegetable as already stated.
They are similar to peppers, in that they are also fruit, which are used as vegetables.

hahaa- I've always asked people what peppers were, myself. you would be surprised how many people say "fruit" automatically when asked about tomatoes but have to think for a while about peppers, lols. 🤣

not with the bananas you buy, naturally grown bananas contain seeds but the ones we consume have been genetically modified so that there are no seeds

You cut a part of the plant and bury that, if you are lucky you get a tree. After you get fruits some people just cut it down anyways, I'm not sure if it's because of they only give out fruits once or just to make more trees. 🤣

Fruit. A lot of vegetables are fruits. Think eggplant, cucumbers, etc. Carrots, potatos, etc are not.

I voted fruit, because it has flesh around seeds. However, they will always be a vegetable to me since I don't like the taste of tomatoes that much. Haha, if it doesn't taste good, it's a vegetable!

Its a fruit.

Have you hear the saying?

"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad"

I've seen cherry tomatos in fruit salads. 🤣 I guess it should depend on what fruits they are put together with.

It's a vegetable, of course, if you speak about food. It's the same family as potatoes and eggplants for instances.

But botanically speaking is a fruit. Every modification due to fecundation of an ovary of a plant is a fruit.

I'm quoting wiki saying that "the term fruit has different meanings dependent on context, and the term is not synonymous in food preparation and biology".

So in short the tomato is a fruit AND a vegetable (but it's not meat, sorry 🤣 ).
