How much until you decide to read a manga?

I read every seinen/shounen that is complete. The ones I deem good I savor. The bad ones I skim.
For josei/shoujo I skim through couple of pages, if I find it interesting I read it.

Quote from Lanaaize
First I take a look at the cover, then the genres, then the categories, then the ratings and then I check whether it's complete, ongoing, completely scanlated or not and so on.
If it's not scanlated and nobody's actively working on it I give up on it right away, if it's either completely or still being scanlated I'll read the summary and maybe some of the comments to decide.
And then I'll either start to read right away or put it on my wishlist if it didn't capture my attention that much... if it's not completely scanlated yet it goes on a seperate list. I guess I'm pretty picky, especially about the art. Sometimes I check the first few pages on some online reader to see if I really like it or not and if I don't I'll drop it again
Yeah, so I was gonna type up my process but it looks like Lanaaize already wrote out the entire thing for me. Thanks for saving me some time. 😉

tags too! BUT!!!! the most important thing is the description because I specially hate the perfect, Gary Stu main lead that happen to fall for a normal girl. Too unrealistic and unfair.
"when you suggest something please don't suggest me like 25 cus I can't go through them all if you do. NO oneshots, yaoi, yuri, shounen ai, ahoujo ai and unless the manga's very good i'm not really into ecchi or fan services. Thank you 🙂 "

I used to just read new mangas off the bat if it was a shojo or josei (art isn't relevant to me) and see if the story is good. If it's good, I'll continue. If it sucks, I drop.
Now I check to see how many chapters there are or if its completed and who the scanlator is because I have this frustration with one group in particular. I avoid any new mangas that come from that group now since they don't seem to be able to ever finish what they started yet they're piling up on new and future projects like no tomorrow.
I NEVER look at ratings because ratings are unreliable but if the reception in the forum/threads for that manga is relatively bad, it may influence my decision.

I just check the genres and demographic, a few pics of pages to see the artstyle and then read a few chapters online. Sometimes I google to see how the MC acts, or if it has a happy ending. If I like it I read it on my phone, if i dont it gets scrapped.
Idk how many different mangas, manhuas or manhwas that I've read but it's more than 3000. More to come!
(Number of H-mangas and one-shots: unknown and not included)
Over 180 anime shows watched and there's a vast sea of shows to go.
J/K-drama's 50+ shows watched.
It's Mr to you!

I usually read the description and look at the cover first. If the description is really interesting, I check the releases. Before, I would just read it even if there weren't that many releases, but now I tend to only start reading the ones that are completed or well-along. The rest go on my wish list until I feel like reading them. If the description wasn't enough and I'm iffy, I read some comments/reviews then decide.
