I am kind of new to manga, and One Piece was recommended by my friends.
Looking at it now, it seems like it's already 58+ volumes, does anyone know if it's going to end anytime soon? Cause I don't wanna till I'm 70 years old to finish it.
Thanks!

I think it will easily continue for at least 5 years.

It's a shounen. Expect it to continue a looooooong time 😲 . When it does finish it's gonna be some fast 2 chapter ending because it got kicked out of shounen jump when nobody liked it anymore.

It's waaaaaay too popular to end anytime soon. I think maybe in another 200 - 300 chapters maybe at the rate its goin.

If Hajime no Ippo hasn't ended, don't count on One Piece to end anytime soon.

Especially now with tons of possibilities still available in the series (One Piece I mean).

Last I checked the mangaka said he had hit the halfway point around 50 volumes. He is planning to pass it off to his kid at some point (not sure if that's before he dies or not.)

That single fact will keep me from ever reading it. Anyone who starts a story that will not finish for the better part of a lifetime is a tool.

blasphemy no one liking one piece is like no one liking air, one piece is king and as long as oda doesn't change it'll continue to run for ever.

Never heard of this. Sure, he passed the halfway point around sometime this year, but his child isn't even 5 years old yet. He's gonna finish it, maybe within this decade or a little later.

hajime no ippo is past 900 chapters and has about 90 published volumes(some volumes haven't been made yet) and no where near the finish so one piece ending not in this lifetime or at least not while this is still running

I really doubt it will end soon. There's still so much in the story that we don't know yet and adventures they can have.

They aren't even in the New World yet and I'm sure there will be many things happening there once they reach it.

Even though Ippo is still running, isn't it not as good as it used to be? If OP reaches that many chapters I hope it stays exciting 🙂

people keep using Hajime no Ippo as an example but what you should really worry about is it running as long as Kochikame.

WOOOAH! I guess this kind of series requires an infinite amount of patience and eternal youth, I'll just stick to shorter and complete series.

Thanks for the replies guys!

This...though it may just be wishful thinking 🙄

@segismundo
You'd be surprised how fast you'd catch up with the series. Once you pick it up, I doubt you'd be able to stop.
If you wanna let a petty thing like age stopping you from reading, then I suggest you stop reading manga/comics or watching anime/cartoons altogether. So what if you're old and still doing those things? If you like it, then do it.
One Piece isn't ~600 chapters of boring crap - it's ~600 chapters of pure shounen awesomeness.
I'm certain you won't regret picking it up.
