I whole heartedly suggest Pandora Hearts.

It is the most epic thing iv seen in my entire life. I normally HATE shounen stuff, but this is the most awesome thing EVER. Its technically shounen, but i think it should be multi-genre.

Its sooooooooooooo the best anime iv watched ever. The manga is amazing. Just beyond wow. Pandora Hearts FTW.

Oh, and if you decide to watch the anime first, either skip or disregard the first episode. Its terrible compared to the rest. No joke.

The 12 Kingdoms - I know, the first several episodes make everyone want to stop watching because Yoko is such a bitch, but keep watching. 😃

Macross 7 - It's really Jun Fukuyama having an epic rock voice but it works.

Last Exile - peters out at the very end though

Infinite Ryvius - has several moments of epic. Not all of them are gonna make you feel like you've just been gutted
