Agreed.
-No longer do I quote great scholars, the famous, etc. Kids feigning wisdom ruined it.
--I wont type a post like a college report. If you don't read it just for that reason, you don't have to post why your hoity-toity ass refused to. I swear, so many people on this site are so full of themselves. A lot seem to think they always have an "intelligent and/or logical" point or show signs of a superiority complex. They never admit they're wrong. Maybe partially, but excuses abound! :\

Futuristic Earth with a post-apocalyptic theme. Something like Desert Punk and Alice in Hell. I like deserts and ruins. MC must be an antihero. Don't care about the location. Mercenaries are always good, too. Must be a seinen. Struggling to make a living while surviving. That'd be nice. 😃

Agreed. I want to read something new, novel, original, exciting!
For those of you who like fantasy earth manga settings, I recommend the following:
Gate - Jietai Kare no Chi nite, Kaku Tatakeri
Those looking for a more serious plot (minus the fantasy cliches) then I would highly recommend this unique title:
Do not speak - unless it improves on silence.

Completely different world like in Tower of God and others.

Modern or futuristic setting combined with fantasy elements.

Historical Europe. I love historical genres b/c there has been so much done with the modern day that there is more of a chance to be repetitive. I guess there'd be a lot more research to be done if historical but it's fun to read historical genres since it's like learning about a new culture you know?
As for which location, Europe because so far, it's kept my interest more but not so much as England. I'd be more interested in the Mediterranean of Europe or farther back into the past like BC times of the Romans, Greeks, Ottoman and such.
I wouldn't mind other historical locations though like the middle east. That'd be interesting =)

It would all depend on the story I was trying to tell. Certain stories are better suited having certain settings. You wouldn't usually write a love story in a sci-fi setting, or an epic, saving-the-world type of deal in a prehistoric caveman setting, or a bro-mance comedy in the middle of the Zombie Apocalypse. Well, normally you wouldn't. Unless you're me... then, you might.
