Transsexuality

Transsexuality is a pretty common theme in manga, from the relatively realistic depictions in Claudine and The Transient Son, to the fanservicey treatment in Stop! Hibari-kun! and No Bra, to the romanticized version in Rose of Versailles, to futanari hentai.
So I'd like to know what the manga community thinks of real-life transsexuality. Is it as fine as it is on paper?
I think I have a real-life transsexual in my class. Probably in "its" thirties? o_o I don't really mind. But what's the big deal? Femininity and masculinity are just human concepts, rapidly changeable as time flows on... You say that you feel like a "woman", but what is a "woman"? That's so stupid. You're just you. I say this, because well, I feel/act/talk womanly too online, but like hell do I want to change my gender. 🤣

I don't really care either. People are people.
It is a little weird, just because it's a new idea to a lot of people and not "normal". But who are to to decide what's normal or not.
I look at a person through their personality and not their appearance. If you have a goof personality, I don't care if you're 2 inches tall. I'll like you for you.

I'm perfectly fine with it.

I think it's wrong. It's like defying God.

Doesn't bother me. I see FTMs as plain Ms and vice-versa. I think I like most of them better than biological males, actually.
As for post-ops, I usually can't tell the difference.
By the way, the recently-developed gender-neutral pronouns are "ze" (or "xe") and "hir", so if you're uncomfortable using "he" or "she" with trans people (or anyone else), you can use those. ^^
I wonder how gay marriage laws apply to trans people?

To me, it's just something that is part of life. I usually can't even tell that they are a transsexual, until someone else points it out.

What if they can't help it?
I feel that there are some who go over board (Jeffree Star for example), if you don't know why look him up.

I find it weird. Honestly, truly weird. Not as in weird = bad, but...just odd. It has no good or bad connotations. But I have no problem with it, people can do what they want and be who they want, that's what I believe in every situation and when talking about everyone and anyone. I feel sad for those that want to be the opposite sex, what they go through and the troubles they might come across...
I'm not really sure what to vote here 🤢 And even what I really want to say, because I have opinions on this that sort of clash >.<
For someone to want to become the other sex, they want to do as the other sex does, act as the other sex does, smell, look, feel...But is this just playing into what society feels a gender should be? is confused
If a guy wishes to be a girl, and dresses like a girl, but is still physically male, I see them as female. Likewise for females. But, this clashes with my first point...but just like everyone else, I've thought about what it would be like to be the opposite sex, but for me, I don't truly wish to be a boy, so it's really not my place to say at all.
And, I feel like I just have to put this out there, but transgendered people are not gay/lesbian based on their original sex. That is a whole other issue. At least, I've heard that numerous times. But "it's really not my place to say at all."

It's cool with me if someone does it. Unless it's a woman who used to be a man and is trying to hit on me like that one time... 🤢
Plus, there's no neutral choice in the poll.

Just because someone's head was chopped off doesn't mean they're dead. That's just silly.

Ah, and there I was, reading them over trying to find the netural option when there isn't even one 🤣
I don't mind it though. It's up to them what they decide to do with their bodies.
Well, it doesn't bother me when I see a transgender..so I guess I'm fine with it or I just don't care.
Nope. It ruins my day.
I don't care whether it's wrong or right.
I just know it disgusts me.
