Site Poll - Chat Box 132 - Original vs. Adaptation

As long as the differences are minor and positively affect the piece as a whole, I say go for it.
But when the new media catches up to the original and then goes it's own direction or maybe just plain ignores the original storyline, then I have mixed feelings. Sometimes you end up with an interesting alternate reality of sorts and other times you have an abomination that you wish you could un-see.

I don't really know which is better, but there are cases where I preffer the original version, which ever it it, that to the adaptation. Like, if it's a amnga and it becomes an anime, it doesn't take away theexitement of 'OMG, IM GONA HEAR INSERT CHARACTER'S VOICE 😀 DD!!!' . But as long as the adaption is good, it's all OK with me- minor changes are unnoticed.

I was leaning to "Can only add a tiny bit of originality" but ended up voting for "Can take liberty in what parts to adapt".
Honestly speaking though, I prefer if the mangaka/writer worked with the anime/manga since they could try out something different 😀

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" (from Hamlet, Wm. Shakespeare; Act II, scene ii)
(Even though the quote above is from Hamlet, I first saw it in a Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer on YouTube ^o^)
