I'm 26... actually started watching anime / reading manga for... maybe 8-9 months ago, so I'm fresh even though I'm quite old (relatively to most of you guys I guess).
But I'm hooked and that won't change, I think =)

(quote)hitting 28 in a month.(/quote)
Found out that I'm actually 27 😕 Mis-calculated my own fricking age. I spent the last year thinking that I was one year older than I actually was. [Duh]No wonder I've had this feeling that something wasn't right[/Duh]. Whole family laughed at me...
I'm so old that I actually forgot my own age 😲 Never would've guessed I'd one day pulled such an idiotic stunt.
Haha.. I've done that before.
Btw, welcome to the forums Lowlife!

Well lets see, I am 18 and have been interested in anime since the mid 90's ( it's weird to look back at what seems like not that long ago and realize that it is more than a 10 gap). Manga obsession started back when Viz released the monthly Shonen Jump which had several of the mangas which I had seen the animes of and many that I hadn't. I believe that the first anime movie that I saw happened to be Akira when I was like 5 or 6 (believe it was on Sci-Fi channel can't really remember since my middle brother was the main person watching it).
I feel kinda bad though that I keep my subscription to Shonen Jump to justify my downloading of the newest chapters of Naruto and One Piece, so that my dad won't jump on me for downloading copywritten materials.

I voted in one catagory (seeing as i am 17 now) but im going to be 18 on monday, lol. Anyway, i have been into anime since i was really young. Back when dragonball z and sailor moon were on at like 6:00am on the wb. I got into subbed anime a few years ago after my bro started watching naruto. I then got into one piece and it just took off. I started reading manga when i caught up with the series and havent looked back. I mean i started my own manga scanlation group so i REALLY like manga

i really thought manga readers stop reading manga at around the age 25 that goes for anime too.. thats what i thought.. 😕
i grew up overseas (parents in us military) so i never knew about anime, maga, cartoons, or anything animated.. i grew up around toys, games and sports, then i moved to the states at 13 than realizing what i have been missing.. 😀

30, and it was my 35 yo friend who got me into anime. She started me on videos like Martian Successor Nadesico and Fushigi Yugi. Then, she told me about the scanlations and graphic novels.
It's therapy for me. 😀

Hum hum, 19 here, and I can't exactly remember the first anime I've seen, probably Attack No. 1 or Transformers followed by Captain Tsubasa--without knowing that any of these were anime, of course.
Hmm, the first time I knowingly read a manga was in 1998, I guess. A pal introduced me to it about two years before his mother died in a tragic accident, that's why I remember the year.
