I'm 15 😀 and I've been a fan of manga since I was 13, when I first starting buying manga magazines XD They're taking over my bedroom...XDDD
I guess you can't part with them despite them being space-eaters? 😉 Are they the Shoujobeat ones or the Japanese ones? Are they big enough to make a chair out of? 😉

im proud to say 15 and still young bwhaha 😛
i really thought manga readers stop reading manga at around the age 25 that goes for anime too.. thats what i thought.. 😕
Well if this was a Japanese forum, maybe the age would be 40 and up. I use to hangout at a newgroup called rec.arts.anime and most of the people from what I sensed were guys that were between 22 to 35. But the media has a stigma attached to being an anime otaku, although fanboys have used this as a playful term in the last few years that they are an anime and manga fanatic. 😉

Hmm, 35 here, been into manga for...three years? Four years? Something like that... My brother's two years older and he's into anime & manga too, though not as much as I am. ^_~
It all started with Ranma vol. 2 at my local library, which confused the heck out of me. (Wait, wasn't that a boy on the previous page? But now it's definitely a girl...eeehh?!??!) Now I read over 100 series and buy what I love. 😀

A great enough story can transcend its medium and entertain a dynamic demographic. I have often found many good examples of life lessons in manga and anime which can apply to many people. While the majority of manga seems to be meant for a younger audience, we're all still children in our own way, and we're always learning. I don't plan on giving up manga any time soon either.

I'm 19, but I remember watching like Dragonball, Yu-Yu Hakusho and Saint Seiya when I was like 6. But I only really started going "Huh, anime and mangá... Cool, I have to go after them!" when I was... 16. I discovered the Internet. And scanlation groups. And considering mangás here are a novelty of sorts, something like a 4, 5 years thing... I don't know, but it hasn't been long. As for anime, well, I don't buy much because I lack funding (laughs) I dl though, but little.

Same here, I watched it before I knew what "Anime" was. I was 8 then. My taste has changed since, I like more blood and more "The good guys don't all ways win" and anime were you root for the bad guys.
i watched anime since i could remember...
my cousins were into anime so i just watched along with them... i never figured out it was anime till i was about.. 14?? (haha i'm slow) but i just figured it was like any old animated show/cartoon
the first anime i watched was in chinese i think... so i have noooooo idea what it was.. i remember watching things like dragonball, yuyuhakusho, sailormoon, ... something with a panda.. something with a girl turning into a pig super hero?... lol lots of random things ^^;

I'm 22 years old.
@ stranger12/Manick/ZinnKid
It's the same for me. I watched the old Captain Tsubasa anime and many others before i even knew that it was anime. In the middle of the 90's anime/manga had a big breakthrough in Germany. Since then i have known what manga/anime is.

Seventeen.
And I've been into anime and manga for two and a half years... Even less, if you subtract half a year of MMORPG's (witch are even more evil than Japanese culture).
Not much, I know. But nothing has ever kept me as hooked up as anime/manga, that's why the day I discovered it kinda opened a new page in my life and drastically changed my lifestyle.
I wonder, when I'll turn 30, will I be begging God to send me back in time and prevent me from getting addicted to this. "A journey to save my youth" or something like that...

Reading through I see soo many youngsters... So young and full of life that it makes me wanna go through my teenage years again... Being 22 is so tiring. I understand my grandparents better now... Young fellas really have so much energy. But they really missed the beginning of everything. Lol, the ataris, neses, 8 bits, jaguars, turbografxes... Ever heard of the super wild card? Lol Im going off topic I think... Bah old is gold. I'll console myself with that. Ha ha.
