If there are mangas out there which the word "epic" could represent, then it would be Berserk. Almost every genre is represented action/violence/gore/romance with the greatest story ever written. Im not sure why there arent many discussions about it here though. Im just curious if there are people like me here who are driven crazy for the one chapter every two weeks.

No one talks about it because it's so obvious how great it is. Any more praise would be redundant.

I'm not saying there aren't monster rape, just not so much that it would be the thing you'd have in mind when talking about Berserk.
I agree that the pace gets EXTREMELY slow. But it doesn't change the fact for me that it probably is one of the best story ever written by men (for now, can't say about the end and all, but I have high hope for once).

Maybe you're blinded by how great Berserk is because I can remember dozens of times that monsters are raping women. It's like Miura's (that's the mangaka's name, right) way to waste pages.

After watching the anime and seeing that crappy ass ending, I have no desire to read the manga.

well, just to let you know, the story does not end where the anime ends. And yes, I love the manga, not only becouse of its mature content, which I don't find any more offensive than yaoi and shounen ai. It is a matter of taste. When we are talking about a cursed by his own fate man, it is only natural for things like raping and mercyless killing to be shown. I love its story and I thing that it shows what it should be showing.
