-The Female Lead is weak or whiny or just really can't do anything
-When one of the characters is a tsundere all the time( I can handle Tsunderes but there are some that really cross the line of "annoying")
-When one of the characters is a "Mary Sue"

There's 200+ chapters with no conclusion in sight.

Everyone looks like a clone of each other.

Strange body proportions, especially when everyone has giraffe necks.

When I'm reading Yaoi or Shounen Ai and there's a weak uke guy who could easily be replaced with that same annoying shoujo girl we would all stick in a rocket making a one-way trip to the sun because they act exactly the same.

There's a plot element that shows up where rape and/or abuse are totally okay because these things mean love! I'm also not okay with abuse, including bullying, or any other social issue being handled in a manner that is completely unrealistic.

Plots so convoluted that the author seriously needs to start including a recap summary at the beginning of each chapter because otherwise nobody has any chance of following what is going on.

I can name more things, but then we'd be getting into stuff that will cause me to not even read a series in the first place.

Reasons that turns me off... about some manga

  • protagonist full of "shounen Justice"
("theres no rational about it, my body just move by itself", eventhough most of his action is nothing but suicide action, and it will become more ridiculous when he gain sudden power up when he in peril from his suicide action)
(protagonist that full of "shounen Justice" speech)
  • the main heroine have Netori element
(at first protagonist A like(not just interested) heroine B, and Main heroine C come, and gradually Protagonist A like Main heroine C, and it's become more worse if they're already in real relationship)
(the main heroine 3P 😛 with other man)
  • the genre makes a sharp turn like from full action to full political struggle
  • the author makes the protagonist do something that's really stupid or some event with ridiculous setting, just for some plot
  • no real progress, just some comedy(love-comedy) wasting tens or hundreds chapter without significant event that can move(develop) the story from stalemate condition.
  • theres more but i can't seem to put it into words properly

When they pander to the lowest common denominator possible.
A Clockwork Orange (the book is more risque, minus the dumb ending), Lolita, The Divine Comedy or Titus Andronicus are counted as high literature, despite featuring every sin under the sun. HBO´s Big Love made polygamy interesting for 3 seasons. I could go on. Every genre or "low" idea can work and the Simpsons were good for 10 seasons.
The list in my signature is prof that manga can too.
Thus i can only complain about bigots, pornographers (in every form), sellouts and authors who write their life´s work like i would throw together a fucking grocery list.

Art. I will immediately put down any manga if I don't like the art style. However, this isn't to say I don't like unique art styles though. I always appreciated Mononoke, even thought the art wasn't exactly what I was used to. But certain mangas with huge lips like Perfect Girl Evolution (the Wallflower), yeah, just couldn't much through that one, haha. xD

Besides that, hm, well, I guess a very wimpy lead. In shoujo that's a huge problem, so I tend to be pretty picky about my leads, especially of the female variety, haha. :-P

I hate it when one of the characters in the manga bullies the one they love (like, constantly-- as if it's the only way they know how to interact with their love). At some point it's not teasing, it's just being a jerk.

Almost all the plots that have heavy bullying (there may be exeptions but its usally a nope orz)

plots/characters and decisions that make no sense

too stupid to live characters

plots that involve adjuction/kidnapping/babynaping/sexual assult for no reason

bad/ old /too realistic / too weird /too sparkly art

crybaby mc (stop crying over everything! orz)

people who fall in love and cant posibly live without the other person after 5 seconds

love intrests with no life

I don't drop any manga lol
I might just keep them on hold, but I have made up my mind to complete a manga if I've started reading it (even if I don't like it very much)

Really, really bad art. Look at some of the stuff Hwang Mi-Ri has put out where the eyes aren't even on the characters' faces right. Also bad proportions...as in Okane ga Nai (yaoi hands) or Seikoku no Dragonar (unrealistically proportioned boobs those girls look deformed). I can take bad art like early SnK or "old" art that people may consider bad, but I can't take stuff like that for too long.

Heroines that are weak, dense, annoying etc but especially if they're built up to be strong and they end up being that way. That really pisses me off.

A weak and annoying heroine can turn me off straight away. also the art of a manga.

many mangas I have stopped reading from both or one of those things xD
