Hi, I'm looking for some shojo ai or shonen ai.
I just can't find any good ones by myself... Everything that I found was... cheesy or stupid. However, I've also found some good ones with GREAT drama xD
So I hope you can please help me to find more. 😁

I have some preferences though:

I'd like some drama, that consists of at least one of the following points or something along those lines:

• a friend/best friend falls in love or...
• they fear that the other person will find it disgusting or...
• the other person actually finds it disgusting/ is straight/seems to be straight or...
• they suppress their feelings (and maybe even when the other person already loves them back)
  ... and so on, to be short i want big drama, feelings confusion, fear, friendship, whatever...^^

but please:

• No all girls or all boys schools
• No love triangles
• No "rape-like" relationship start (like forced kiss or harassing and touching)
• No Ecchi, Yaoi, Yuri, Shota, Loli, Hentai if possible

Why was I put in the Yaoi/Yuri-forum? I have explicitely excluded those genres from my search. I always thought the Yaoi/Yuri-forum was more for.. you know... series with adult content. But I'm not looking for that.

Um, I'm not sure how you'll like this, but I've found it to be a page turner : Komatta (Full name is Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!)
The manga art isn't necessarily the best but there's a drastic (to my eye but still there) improvement somewhere in the ch.20s and continues as you go along. They start off on the wrong foot but become friends and start to be even closer. The series is pretty much full of comedy but also A LOT of drama. Hope you like it! 😀

I second Komatta. It's one of the best shounen-ais. It's like they are both friends, but more than friends at the same time. And I liked the art (after a couple volumes the art gets better) 🙂

Exactly what you want. Although it is labelled as Yuri, there's this joke about it at the end of one of the chapters:

A: "I'm reading this yuri manga, Girl Friends."
B: "I'm reading this manga w/ no yuri in it."
A: "What's it called?"
B: "Girl Friends."

One of the best manga I've read, one of the two I actually reread. Another thing I noticed is that it has top-notch school life, although it is an all girls school, it seems like a normal one, not one of those romanticized ones, where they seem to have no interest in the opposite sex. That is all I can say w/out spoiling anything.

Edit: wow. Usually ppl don't leave their lists open, so i don't bother to check. but i see you read it already. I still can't find a manga as good as Girl Friends.

So I guess I'll recc the second best choices... they don't fit perfectly.

Not really, Shoujo-ai/Shounen-ai are also always placed in the Yaoi/Yuri forum regardless of explicitness.

Some shoujo-ai....

Aoi Hana (friend is afraid of being rejected, schoolgirls but boys are not absent, there is mention of sex)
Ebisu-san and Hotei-san (not too much drama, a little lighthearted in fact)
Flower Flower (girl marries another girl thinking its a boy, the confused girl shows dislike for those that don't stick to their gender)
Sasameki Koto (looks to have schoolgirls I haven't read it but I heard it's pretty good)
