Have you ever been mistaken for the opposite gender?

Not me, but once I was trying to sneak up on my sister from behind to jump scare her and found out it was my cousin. He is smallish, slender and had long hair...and looked like my sister from behind.
Oh wait there was those times on the phone with annoying sales calls in the morning. My grumpy morning voice apparently sounds like a sir.

A teacher mistook me for a guy based on my boyish sounding name during roll call in class before, since he didn't know what I looked like. 🤣

Nope, never happened to me. I always had long hair since I was young and then puberty hit quite early, so there was no way to mistake me for a boy. I have a deep voice, but it seems it's still in the feminine range or so they tell me xD

One time I got a phone call from some woman who knew my aunt. For some reason the woman was convinced I was a woman too and she didn't get it even when I said to her that I'm not. However what I said could have been misunderstood in the language I use (though the misunderstood meaning is much less obvious, so I blame it on the fact that the other person was 100% convinced she was talking with another woman). Another thing about the language I use that it's obvious if you mistake the gender of the person you are talking too. The reason for that is the fact that most verbs and many nouns have gender specific forms.

I been mistaken for a girl a couple of times. Theres was this incident i was in the gents at the basin and a couple of guys came in saw me and just stood there dumbfounded. Then they keep going out trying to reconfirm the "Gents" sign outside. Finally they approached me asked if this is the man's restroom and i answered yes. They said i looked like a girl so they were confused. I was 23-24 yrs old back then. Was hella funny. But then my friends started calling my name with suffix "-chan"(they know i like manga and anime) and it got damn annoying ever since.

Yeah, when I was a kid I was skinny, dressed like a boy (my hatred for dresses, skirts and girly clothes is alive up to day), had a short haircut and played with boys, so I was often mistaken for one. 😀

When I was 17 and had long hair, one time, on a bus, a 4-5 year old kid pointed towards me and asked his mom whether I was a man or a woman 😛 That's the only time I aware of.
You can PM me if you need a temporary (freelance) cleaner/redrawer for some project. Especially if it's something with nice art.
Being the lazy person that I am, I'm not likely to accept anything long-term though.

Sometimes over the phone, but not on person. My voice isn't too deep and strangers may confuse it. I remember once when i was a child, I talked a bit with, and gave money to a blind beggar, and he said something like "Thank you girl".
My appearance wouldn't easily pass as a woman's 😛

only by truckers(gotta be drunk) driving past on my walk home from work
lots of hilarious near misses I can think of, where my older brother's 1st gf looked 100% like Archie and 99% like my younger brother
I had come up behind her after school thinking it was my bro and had my hand on her shoulder with a big WASSSUPPP. When she turned to face me I don't think I sold it; I cracked.

I used to get mistaken as the opposite gender most of the time. It happened less & less as I grew up. Now it only happens rarely.
Real life aside, on the internet, automatic gender assign functions of sites like Twitter usually end up assigning me the opposite gender if I leave the gender column empty.

Used to have long hair that hid part of my face when I was younger. Was often mistook for a girl especially when ordering take-out.
