I'm looking for a josei/shoujo romantic manga where the typical roles are reversed. The girl is the domineering type while the guy is meek and soft.

  1. It should be a manga (not manhwa, the art style of korean romances is really not my cup of tea)
  2. It should be primary everyday romance, no action/adventure and not a fantasy. The more realistic the better. Comedy is ok, but I prefer it in moderation, so something more serious, not necessary a drama, would be nice.
  3. The male should not be the cool silent type, he should not overshadow the female most of the time, if at all (so titles like Hanakimi, HYD, Koukou Debut etc. are not what I'm looking for, definitely not Beast Master, nor Her Majesty's Dog)
  4. The female should have personality and not be pointlessly loud/violent. The less she behaves like immature boy, the better.
  5. The dynamic of the couple should not be entirely equal. For example: the guy should relay more on the girl and the girl should not relay on the guy (almost) at all.

Kimi wa Pet, and maybe Fujoshi Kanojo are the only ones i can think of that comes close to this.

Sorry for being so demanding and thanks!

hmm.... I have read all of Yoshinara Yuki works including Itadakimasu. Yoshinara Yuki does reverse the sexual stereotype of a couple, so it's not completely off the mark, but I wouldn't say the females fit the criteria all that well, they are very naive, with the mind constantly in the gutter (which isn't a bad thing, but not what I'm looking for atm), thanks for trying, though!

I think another Yoshihara Yuki's manga but earlier and shorter is like that too. Don't remember the name.

The only one I've ever kind of/sort of seen that it is Kare Kano, which I'm not sure meets your other criteria. The hero and heroine are more the silent quiet type, and they're both about equal in terms of shinyness.

Fruits Basket has everyone relying on the heroine, but she's the brainless ditz type and it's fantasy.

Monkey High might meet your criteria, as the reliance is debatable and she's the cool silent "shoujo hero" type.

Actually on the Monkey High rec list: Beauty Pop's got a shiny hero, but the heroine's got more skill then him and is the silent type.

@story645, oh yes, thank you for reminding me of karekano, it does fit the topic partially.

Fruit Basket and brainless characters are definitely not what i'm looking for, I find stupid characters usually boring and two dimensional, at least as far as romance genre goes.

I've skimmed through first volume of Monkey High, it seems that the hero is your typical happy go lucky guy, he is not timid and not particularly weak since it seems that he always shoulders the heroin who is rather sullen, so it's the guy who supports the girl. Do the roles reverse at all? If not, it's not what i'm looking for.

speaking of which, remembered one on my own, Kimi ni Todoke is fitting the criteria so far, Sawako solves her own problems without relaying on anyone. And there is a secondary couple, where, while the guy offers indirect advice, it's the girl who takes action. The main male lead, while is the popular kid, doesn't overshadows Sawako and is rather shy and timid when it comes to his love interest.
