What do you think when this manga will end? Because ive not read Gantz since i came to the end of the scanlations and now im waiting for it to end so that i can read it at once, which i think makes much more fun than reading a chapter now and then.

So, id appreciate your thoughts on how far off the end is? 😃

(Fyi, ive read till chapter 255)

Several years. Gantz phase 2 just started, and it probably won't end without at least 3 phases.

Why waiting?..
I know it's not really fun with the clifhangers, but onces you've started it it's kind of a waste to wait, especialy when it shows no sighs of stopping in the next few years (hopufully 😛 ) .

tops i think 3 years

i was nervous at first it was big & long & went straight up i had to try it i eased onto it & liked it! i went up & down on it.... i love escalators now! 😀

at the rate it releases chapters it'll prolly be still a lot of years till it's finished. And it's boring me out ever since Kurono left. Can we have some more plot developing and less brainless idiots dieing tho some scenes amused me.

And the freaking gundam suite last time sucked big time to. Kurono in the dino mission was way cooler.

Because Gantz is one of those series which is better to read, IMO, an arc at a time or the whole thing altogether in one go. A lot more fun that way compared to short bursts of goodness on weekly or biweekly intervals.

But on topic I think it'll take a couple years minimum due to a bunch of stuff such as...

other Gantz teams, Kurono's inevitable resurrection and his battles to get his own 100 points and escape Gantz.

That means you haven't read Gantz in 2+ years seeing they are still on the same arc since phase 2?

This is probably a little conservative. Consider that Gantz is released on a biweekly basis meaning 26 chapters (tops, if the mangaka takes no sabbaticals) a year. Consider what can actually be done 78 chapters from now, when we've been on this arc alone for the last ~30.

I first read Gantz after phase 2 began, and it was way more fun to read phase 1 in one go rather than the "read a chapter, wait for next chapter, read a chapter" process, which I'm currently doing.

Thanks for the replies, now i have an idea how long id have to wait to see this series finished. Ill consider 2 years of time at least.

@NightSwan: Actually, after reading Naruto chapter for chapter, im not too fond of reading chapter wise because i dont have the memory to remember what happened in a series +one chapter (or +2 weeks) ago. I also too often forget the characters names which makes it confusing when in a current chapter there is reference to some guy who appeared in the past chapters and i totally forgot about him and his name. Thats in all too much irritation for me and takes the fun of a manga. Therefore, i rather like to read finished mangas or lets say, i rather like to read arc wise, so if phase 2 ends and there is a phase 3 in this manga, i might read phase 2 although the manga keeps continueing. Unfortunatly, ive already started Gantz, which i really love, and now im waiting for it to end soon ... but also not that soon. 🤣

ahhh .. im not saying ive a bad memory, im just saying its difficult to remember all the japanese names of all the mangas i read if i dont do the effort to remember them (which i dont do), therefore i forget the names and the storylines when i read chapter wise 😳

Ill check this manga again in summer, maybe phase 2 comes to an end till then. 🙂

actually......the mangaka doesn't plan on ending it all

at the end of one of those volumes....were the author was sayin his thanx and ranting and stuff, he was talking about how he plans to keep it going as long as he's alive.........so at the very least as long as it's still popular enough it'll keep being released
