It was Galaxy Express 999. they showed it on Sci-fi network way back when. After that it was Gundam Wing. 😔 Then from there I moved onto better anime.

I actually never knew what i was watching was anime i just thought it was just any old cartoons. i was so wrong. i was drawn into certain ones. i like alot of genres so i can't really say if it were the characters or the plot. i don't know. 😛 my first ever animes was sailor moon and dragon ball. they are both totally different but they had comedy. lol guess i like comedy. but not all the anime i watch have comedy 🤢 heehee

Action scenes from the dubbed versions of dragonball, sailor moon, and rounin warriors got me hooked when I was like six years old. Kamehameha ftw!!

#3 for me, because Sailor Moon seemed amazingly good compared to what crap was currently running around, I've never liked Disney even when I was a kid.

Oh yeah and the drawings. They were completely different to what was available then and it was all so colorful and pretty and lively and...falls into pool of nostalgia

Same with Shaman King that fired my obsession with anime a few years later. I had no idea it was anime, but I pretty much instantly got obsessed with it, because the storyline and the characters seemed SO good (until I found out was pretty weak compared to FMA&co).

I just realized that there's a very good reason why about half of the people picked # 3. A good bit of you either weren't born yet were too young to remember or you didn't live in the US, so it makes sense that you wouldn't have watched Batman the animated series, spiderman, ghostbusters, conan, Xmen, sonic, gargoyles, Tiny Toons, animaniacs, freakazoid, sam and max freelance police, the tick, and garfield and friends. It just so happens sometime around the early to mid 90's american cartoons started sucking thanks to censorship. Stuff like violence, guns, and sex were pretty much all left out of cartoons. This effectively turned them into purile rubbish. See xmen evolution, superman, and most of the batman cartoons on kids wb, save batman beyond. Paul Dini worked on that and it was gold.

Incidentally, anime was finally making its way to amercia for maybe the third time. It still had some of that good stuff left in it.

Man, I can't count. I look at it closer and its more like a third of the people chose 3

Quote from Chibidoro-sama

Fetish stories, but Im not going to tell you what fetish

We didn't even want to know, but we know anyway.

And here we did get Spiderman, Ghostbusters, some Batman, Sonic (that one only recently) and stuff like that but back then they were pretty late for kids my age.
I meant all the retarded stuff that's supposed to be funny but leaves me "...". Foster's what's-his-name is the only one that comes to my mind, and the rest are so bad I never even remembered their names.
Screw you censorship, I'm off to youtube.

I grew with it, Macross SDF, Macross DYRL (suppose to be movie, but it was aired in my country), Heaven war shulato, Patlabor, Dragonball series, Saint Seiya, Aa Megami sama.

but generally I read manga more, there was even a manga rental near my school, they got like 200+ titles, I usually went there after school. Pick random titles, at read it at home.

It was Naruto that dragged me into the world of anime & manga.

I was playing this online mafia game, then I joined a family called "The Naruto Family" and I was wondering what that was.And there you go. 😀

Though I got really hooked after watching the first Bleach opening. 😎
