Quote from From Wiki
M×0 was serialized in the manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump between May 1, 2006 and May 19, 2008 and is published by Shueisha.2 Ten bound volumes were released in Japan. The manga was intended to run for longer, but due to the low ratings it had in Weekly Shōnen Jump it was put up for cancellation.

The Pretty Face manga was first serialized in the manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. The first bound volume was released on October 4, 2002 and ended in Japan in November 2003. The manga series has a rather abrupt ending, finishing with fifty-two chapters and one extra chapter. It was intended to run longer, but was canceled due to the low ratings it had in Weekly Shōnen Jump. The last chapter featured additional information and alternate endings, as well as some original storyboard art.

Found the reason for Mx0 and Pretty Face being axed. Also, is it just me or do all of KANO Yasuhiro series get axed confused I mean other than thoes two the rost of the stuff that he has done is all oneshots

personaly im glad alot of manga i liked gets axed. sure im pissed at first, but after a while when i think about it, im glad they ended before they got run into the ground.

when i find out a seriese gets axed, i usually stop reading them or put them on hold.

Mx0 ended at a good time because there wasn't much more you could do with it besides turning it into a retarded battle manga and hiding his card, you couldn't do to much more with the magic besides those routes or making it repetitive.

pretty face ended at a relitivlily good point too. it wasn't a great end, but i was never expecting a 100% everything is all good ending, it would have pissed me off more than the ending it got.

lock on was mediocre at best, especially when compared to the oneshot, i'm honestly glad that it got canned before it got really dark, and also so much of it got changed from the oneshot that it wasn't even worth keeping up with on a weekly basis. the oneshot had him with photo memory, and only wanting to see pretty things because he will never forget. the manga had the same concept, but also mixed in with he is a genuise, who cant understand human emotions, among other things. the one shot was also more humors, but the manga felt like at some point they would go into a molestation area, and im so glad it ended before than

SWOT went from an interesting oneshot, which explained why he was strong. to a manga that was set in reality, with school age students trying to kill each other. it than went further into retarded by making the main character get strong to fight aliens, instead of being able to think of counters and such, than another level of retarded by adding supernatural. and i stopped reading it at about chapter 12ish, so i dont know if this happened, but instead of a battle manga, this could have turned into a slice of lifeish manga with aliens, where instead of the battle manga is was poorly putting together, they went and made aliens exist, land and be semi secret, with adventures following.

there are only a few manga im genuenly pissed about their endings, that would be Double Arts and to love ru.

Double Arts was a battle manga, more or less, with an interesting adventure aspect put onto it. it was darkish without being to dark, and it had an interesting story, something i cant say for most bleach/onepiece/naruto clones out there (and among those 3 one piece being the only one that is still a good manga). the reason it was canned was because it was a slow burn. you know why shonen mangas go all out in their first 3-5 chapters before developing a story? its to catch interest in morons. if you don't catch interest quick than people don't bother with your manga any more, you are trying to get kids age 7+ interested in the manga. most people who like it love it because its not a typical shonen, where the main character is godly. but the way the end was handled, IS THE BEST ending i have read in a manga almost to date. it wrapped it up in a way that wasn't a quick ending, it also answered some questions, and gave what would probably have been the true end to the manga if it handent been rushed. take a look at chapter 1 and pay attention to the wording. if i had to say anything, its like this ending was planed form the beginning, so that when it did end, where ever it did, it could be pulled out and used.

and to love ru... this ending pissed me off because it was caused my... ok let me see here... i cant find the pictures that goes point by point why the seriese was ended... lets just say i want the guys former wife dead. but the to love ru ending was the best ending that was ever given to a harem manga... a true harem end outside of hentai is almost unheard of. people are pissed because there was no real pairing in the manga... but the manga never should have had a real pairing... guy is going to become king of the universe, guy can make his own laws, why chose one girl if you have 10 that love you and you love them all back?

Double Arts.

JUST...OHOHDK:JLSKJASDH:LAKSH:LSAKDJLDKS! I wanted it to last like 10 volumes (and possibly more, without quality degradation) ! D<

Pretty Face was axed? Never knew that, I'm pretty ok with its ending though.

I almost cried when Double Arts was canned. Q_Q
I wasn't so excited for a new mange for YEARS! It had so much potential, and it was my favorite type! *Main chara has a mysterious power that the baddies either want or are highly interested in*
I was so angry when they got rid of it, I felt like whoever is in charge over there needed to reconsider. I really hope the mangaka is able to pick up elsewhere... it was wonderful.

It isn't even that the stories are axed, for me. Not exactly. Of course, the manga I like I would want to continue, but it would be okay if the ending was good. When the stories are axed they don't get enough time to wrap them up properly and a bad ending can ruin a series. If they must ax them, do, but let the mangaka finish them properly. Don't the editors have that much respect for the series, to work with the mangaka? Of course, I prefer for the good ones not to be axed, but you can't have everything.

SWOT had gotten very, very strange, but I hadn't quite given up on it. When I read the last chapter it was actually months later that I realized it was the last chapter because it didn't seem like an ending at all. Double Arts, of course, was tragic. That one had barely begun to unfold and had so much potential. xxxHolic had loose ends for sure, but I didn't hate the ending though I the timeskip was a bit jarring and I sure would have liked to find out what happened with that egg. For Psyren, I found what happened with the bad guys dissatisfying and it was a bit rushed. If only the mangaka had had a few more chapters to wrap things up, I think the ending would have worked out better. (I've been sufficiently vague to avoid spoilers, I hope.)

yea it comes out monthly and will most likely be canceled come july. the tone the sequal takes is far different from the tone of the first manga. its sad...

I dunno if Slam Dunk got axed or not, but I got quite pissed when it ended after just two matches in the Nationals. If it's going to end right after the Sannoh match, then what's the point of introducing the 199 cm, 100 kg superhuman freshman, Morimoto Hiroshi, in chapter 187? I know you guys probably don't remember him since he appeared in just several chapters, but this guy knocked down Sakuragi on the ground after Sakuragi intentionally bumped into him! I was looking forward to when he and Sakuragi meet on the court it will be a contest of strength between them, rather then a basketball match. Also the anime got axed before they go to the National arc.

do not hate it.

manga that stray from satisfying its target market, better be axed. better to let the mangaka write another story that suits the new target market better. it could turn out to be more prized work than before.

manga that got some over-twist, better be axed. the dissatisfied reader (because the change the manga gotten) don't bring good thing in the market. once the reader can't figure things out, the become dissatisfied.

manga that become too boring better be axed. losing readership, in long term, means losing money. also, by axing that series, the better (or more promising) new manga can take the spot and start piling satisfied readers.

me?
i stop reading manga that gonna get axed (by reason mentioned above). better stop before dissatisfaction gone greater.

Many people believe that Slam Dunk was ended prematurely due to a plagiarism/tracing scandal. (Takehiko Inoue was tracing NBA photographs for use in Slam Dunk.) A little info:

*looks at side-by-side* haha, it doesn't even need to be said. Kind of disappoints me as a reader.

But on topic, of course it's disappointing when something gets axed. When Mx0 and Double Arts got axed I was horribly disappointed. When I read Pretty Face I was appalled by the ending and swore, saying I hated the mangaka; only later did I find it wasn't his fault, but shueisha's. [m]Lock-On[/m] was interesting, and the mangaka did well enough in making a satisfying enough ending, though you could tell there were so many more ideas running through his head that had yet to be used.

The one thing that kills me is that the amazingness of Double Arts was replaced by SWOT that, from what I've heard, was a somewhat disappointment from chapter 2-3. Going from KOMI Naoshi's one-shots (See Island and Personant) you can easily tell that there is skill there, I really hope he finds some work soon, I miss that great guy.
