I was going through my reading list to see what manga's have been in a void and basically i saw a bunch of series(some more recent then others) that are missing chapters that i am sure i have seen in the update list once or twice... for example
https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=86711
Just wondering if its a bug or the site lost a few updates or something like that

I think his problem is that the series is completely scanlated but chapters 4 to 19 are not listed in the MU database.

The problem with this series, I think, is that it has been finished by a single person on Batoto, not by a group.

And even though everyone can add new releases, it requires a group to be in MU's database.
Yes, you can add a new group too, but I think it requires filling in some of the fields other than the name itself. I'm not sure what one should fill them with - the link to the scanlator's Batoto profile or the "group" page there?

Could be the work of the Japanese manga "protection" society. I seem to recall that about 6-8 months ago one of the amalgamation sites had gotten a bunch of DMCA notices that asked for the removal only of some chapters of several series. If you think about it, this is a good way to discourage people from reading the affected scanlated manga.

That doesn't matter. IF the chapters existed once before, there are reasons why they may have been removed. FAQ here: https://www.mangaupdates.com/faq.html?cid=3#item28 (Even though it's for release submission, it still applies.)
