So I realise I'm reviving a dinosaur, but I figured I should update this topic.
I recently found out about a JOCR method that actually work. I tested it myself, cropping a sentence from a raw, uploaded and it worked.
From then on you could copy that sentence and try to use google translate or someth ...

Instead of cropping the text and uploading it to a separate program, you can probably do something like this. I'm thinking you can get the OCR database you found and integrate it with the program shown in the vid; of course, assuming you haven't tried it yet.

This thread is amazing!
Seriously! I was thinking about creating a thread like this in the past, but I had a feeling that people would call me dumb for not trying to learn the languages myself. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and all the other complicated Asian languages are just too much effort for my brain to process it all. And to be honest, I am simply not that dedicated to learning these languages when I still have ways to go on my own native languages: Italian & German. And let me not forget how English has some terms that are sometimes difficult to spell or pronounce. So these three languages itself are such a huge priority that even considering Asian languages will just be a pain.

Using these software-ideas will definitively be of help because I hate having to depend on some old Japanese & Korean couples who's fed-up on translating manga for me on their free time.

I haven't used it yet, but I hope it's as good as that video.

I just hope that stuff like this really get taken into consideration for future technology. Allot of technology has really set the standard for life changing lifestyles. And I feel that if this gets perfected in the future, it will be a true breaking point in human history. And to be honest, if anyone perfects this and throws it to the public, they'll be making money in the billions.
