You should definitely read this manga. I'll make a list of why:

1. Ouran is a pastiche (light-hearted satire) of shoujo cliches (most people don't know this)
2. It has absolutely brilliant character development/dynamics
3. The humor is quite original
4. The plot is engaging
5. Everything has a purpose

From a male perspective, I think this manga manages to demean both men and women. I think the story is comical but there are a few aspects that I find too farfetched even for a fictional work. Rich guys working for a host club and women who goes gaga over sweet talking guys and is willing to pay them. Sure it happens in real life but there's a few aspect that they should add to make it more believable. Furthermore, I thought this was a school that they were working in. I guess I'm just to down to earth to enjoy this for what it truly is.....
