Do you ask for directions?

Just wondering since I got lost today taking the wrong bus home. >_>
I never take the bus when going home after class, I usually have my car for that, but I took it today and forgot that more than one bus stops at a bus stop...I just took the first one and ended up all the way across the city. I didn't know where I was and didn't bother asking for directions until a nice bus driver said he would take me back home...not cheap btw, I had to give him $30...
I hate asking for directions, if I'm going somewhere I should know how to get there, but s*** happens.

🤣 lol, you still get lost even though you're in high school?
I always ask for directions when I need it. It's easy, fast, and free.

I think it is exactly the topic. I see nothing wrong.
I only ask for directions to the bathroom... |-_-|

What a nice bus driver that the only thing i want to say!
But apart from that i ask direction sometime when i just don't want to search the way. But i there is town when i don't like doing it like in Paris, the few time i have asked direction the people just started to walk faster like i was going rob them, serriously it put my nerve until the end of the day.

Um, I'm a college student, but I doubt age has anything to do with it. 🙂

I hate being lost, so if I'm going to a new place I usually check a map, memorize how to get where I'm going, and also take the map along with me. Most of the time it works just fine, and if there's a detour or something I can find my way around it and get back on track. If I'm at all familiar with the town/city, I will sometimes just head in the right direction, knowing that I'll recognize landmarks as I get closer and be able to find my way. (I do, however, have a little problem with left/right and east/west, which has sent me a bit off track more than once... 🤢 )
If I'm really lost, or in a hurry, or just not in the mood to figure it out on my own, then I'll ask for directions (but I have to be really really careful about left/right and east/west or I end up going the wrong way again). 😃

Yeah. I don't see any problem with it. It saves time, all in all.

Never been in a tangle MapQuest, a good map and reading signs hasn't been able to get me out of. I have NO sense of direction, so I learned very early in life how to read a map and how to read it well. And as long as I've been somewhere before, I'm fairly good at remembering landmarks...

I don't understand why people don't. It's better than getting more lost.

I'm fortunate, I've never needed to ask for directions before. There are multiple maps in the car but I always plan my route before I go anywhere that I've never been to before. I write down the directions, which helps me to remember them better, and it's easier than pulling over and looking at the map. If I really needed to I would, but I'd rather call where I'm going with my cell.
