and isn't his hair meant to be naturally that colour though? ie not bleached.. unlikely as this is in a japanese bloke 🙂 mind you kenshin's hair is even redder and they didn't have hair dye in them days..

I remember a reference to shinigami bleaching the world on the back of one of the translated manga volumes, but it just sounded like they were trying to explain the title in a lame way so more people would think it makes sense and buy it.. 😀 I don't remember anyone in the actual manga mentioning it.

Im one for the Engrish idea... or just because it sounds cool. Like when the title for the rather fantasical manga Blame was meant to be 'Blam' (as in the sound effect) but they spelt it wrong and it ended up sounding a lot better to us english-speaking people. (off-topic but it's always amused me!)

Tite proved many times that his english is good. He never engrished in any chapter title or english names.

so far, non of mangakas really never had a indirect title like that
to the story so far ( that i know of )

i mean naruto is called naruto cause of naruto himself, lmao
and one piece is called one piece cause thats theme and the climax to be

but bleach on the other hand is a title which is a word never mentioned or said in the manga... so i'm assuming its a reference in which its suppose to describe something, considering alot of western movies do the same kind of thing, making a title which you wonder about and has controversies...

these are my guesses

1. ichigo's hair, unique orange and its noticable
2. he's unique powers and how he's different that others
3. its all about colors, their reiatsu but not their clothing and weapons
4. ummm, you see a shitload of haircolors in this manga, lol, im joking
5. uhh, well for one thing, you see people of all colors, considering
   chad is mexican, tousen is black... so maybe people of all colors?
   nah, this one is a joke as well....

I still stand by with that Shinigamis 'bleach'(get rid of) the Hollows from this world.

@funkmu-when you bleach black hair, orange is what you get. Using H2O2 is called bleaching.
