However unrealistic it may be, a romance is most interesting to me if neither is chasing the other and they both have the confidence to be on the same footing when entering the relationship.

Ideally, this happens in like the first chapter 😛 Literally the only manga that was fun enough for me to stick with a "no-confession" for over a hundred chapters was Kaguya.

It depends entirely on personality for me, gender doesn’t matter. Same with a proposal. I just want to see whatever will generate the most interesting dialogue.
