Wait, so does that mean that the Super Hollow Ichigo that appeared when fighting Ulquiorra was really that Hollow Ichigo from before? If that turns out to be true, then Kubo just made another plot hole...

How is it a plot hole? When Ulquiorra blasted a massive hole in Ichigo, 'Hollow Ichigo' took over his body. It was very similar to when Ichigo was fighting Byakuya in Senkai form, when Byakuya was about to land the final blow, 'Hollow Ichigo'. In both cases Ichigo (while being controlled by 'Hollow Ichigo') was much stronger than before. Ichigo even said to Ulquiorra that it was his hollow possesing him (i.e. 'Hollow Ichigo') when he wiped the floor with Ulquiorra/

The only thing we don't understand yet is how 'Hollow Ichigo' became 'Super Hollow Ichigo' although it's likely he just evolved with time or something.

And once again, Ichigo's progression is all part of Aizen's plan. Well at least Kubo had the decency to tell us directly instead of trying to surpise us. I really wish the new figure on the last page breaks AIzen's neck, I can't stand his new form, it's worse than Kaname Tosen's fly release

The reason why it would be a plot hole is because when Super Hollow Ichigo came out, the sole thing it wanted to do was protect Orihime. Hollow Ichigo is a character that cares solely about itself and only wants Ichigo alive because if Ichigo dies than it dies. (It states this when it fought Ichigo way back when Ichigo was training with the Vizards). For Hollow Ichigo to come out and suddenly want to protect Orihime for no reason whatsoever creates a huge plot hole.

I was kind of guessing that since his trip to Hueco Mundo, Ichigo has become closer and closer to a true equilibrium between Shinigami and Hollow. So, if he is above the captain level as a shinigami, then he would be above the level of an espada as a hollow.

I can't really figure out who that would be behind Tatsuki, though. The shoe looks like it has a buckle on it. So, no idea...Tessai maybe?

When Ichigo was lying on the floor, the last thing he heard was Orihime screaming 'Kurosaki-kun please help us'. Upon hearing this he desperately wanted to help her. However Ichigo was practically dead, the only way for him to be of any help is if he lets 'Hollow Ichigo' take over. Plus the fact that Ichigo was nearly dead, he could offer no resistance against 'Hollow Ichigo' taking over. However, the last thing going through Ichigo's mind was 'Protect Orihime'. This most likely prevented 'Super Hollow Ichigo' from directly attacking Orihime. So 'Super Hollow Ichigo' had no intention of protecting anyone, it was just Ichigo's subconcious creating resistance against it.

i dont think that the super hollow of current looks exactly like the super hollow ichigo who fought ulquiorra. If anything the super hollow that fought ulquiorra was a blend of the two. it was born from ichigos need to save orihime, but was far too much for ichigo to handle.

I still dont think that bizarro ichigo is his inner hollow at least in soul society's terms of an inner hollow, more like some abnormality related to his mother. bizarro ichigo looks just like aizen

Your theory actually makes sense. I just hope that Kubo gives an actual reason that's somewhat like yours instead of half-assing it...

LOL. Hoping for that would be like the dictionary definition of "optimism"

Personally I think it'll remain as one of those "plot holes that fans can explain away"

Likely to be Ryuken Ishida.

Ah! That's a good idea. I didn't even think about him. But, doesn't he usually dress in all white like his son? Well, it could be his leg in shadow, I guess.

It wouldn't even matter if it was Matsumoto...she wouldn't be able to stop Gin, let alone Aizen.
