Well, even though W-Juliet isn't one of my favorites, I think it was well done overall and more importantly, it continues to W-Juliet II which as fas as I know has yet to be licensed. Marriage, college, and comedy continue.

In Itazura na Kiss. The girl chase the boy loves when they in highschool, then on college, then on workplace...each one with new setting and some new friend and rival....feel like trilogy and that doesn't end and never will, because the author die.

hmmmm... in 75% of shoujo smut mangas where the heroine is raped, the ending usually has the heroine falling in love with her rapist. I would love to see an ending where the heroine has a change of heart and turns her rapist into the police. He is convicted of rape and/ or assault and then goes to jail.

meh... like that would even happen 🤢 . it's exactly the reason why I don't read much Shinjo Mayu.

Quote from gan17

They promise to be together forever, they fuck, she gets knocked up, the kid's born, they realize they ain't got no money, he drinks and gambles, she screws around, they sell the kid to cover their debts, they divorce, the kid grows up to become the screwed up villain in shonen manga.

Ain't life beautiful. 😀

Ahh, you couldn't have worded that any better way (:

Well, if it was reality, most high school sweethearts don't stay together. But it's manga, and everyone knows most shoujo manga always end with a happy ending. So, mostly likely, in the shoujo manga world, they would stay together, get married, the guy wouldn't even look at another girl, and they have cute babies that look like the gorgeous dad, because the shoujo heroine most of the time is not that pretty, just cute.

they'll probably grow bored of one and another and one of them will have an affair of some sort...now that'd be interesting!

Well, in real life, they would break-up, but in mangas... That's a different story. They'll most likely act like idiots and be together forever.

In Koukou Debut, they do focus on the relationship afterwards from her freshman year to his graduation. And of course in that time period there's ex-girlfriends, love triangles, communication problems, meeting parents, etc. It's the first shoujo I read, so I may be biased, but it was pretty good!

I usually don't think people who get together in High School will stay together, so there's no way I'll believe in some disfunctional relationship built on a crush someones glorification of the other person 🤣

According to the standards of shoujo, they get married and live happily ever after, riding off into the sunset on a rainbow pony.

In reality, they probably break up. Most pairings are made up of very different people in shoujo, like the rich, spoiled bishie and the stupid, poor heroine; they're bound to have conflict sometime, and twoo wuv doesn't last forever. My bet is that the bishounen dumps the heroine for a sexier, smarter girl.

They become the main characters of josei manga.

Hehe. Otherwise, I pretty much agree with everyone else. They live the perfect life in shojo world or they break up about 2 weeks later in real world.

I like this ending though. Why isn't any manga like that?

Everyone either regains that common sense that they REALLY needed when they where in the story, or they still act very stupid and wangsty with everyone and everything they met until they die.

I like that some stories have follow up stories. Like in Peach Girl you get Ura Peach Girl and you can see Momo and Kairi together in university. Or in Koukou Debut you get the follow up one shot and see that they're still together 🙂
