Any1 read Light Novels? Companies are starting to put more and more out there on the US market (Tokyo Pop, Seven Seas..). I've been enjoying the light novel series for Strawberry Panic, but thats all I've read so far. Any1 else read any or have any good suggestions?
Fansubs and Scanslations are the best! But when official releases come out, support the anime industry by purchasing your favorite series! (Geneon -R.I.P, Central Media Park - get well soon, ADV Manga - you're back from the dead?!)

Can't read much Japanese, so I can only depend on translations.
Toradora! (Novel) and Ookami to Koushinryou (Novel) are two I'm currently following.
Try Baka-Tsuki.They've got some good titles.
Hoping someone will translate Watashitachi no Tamura-kun (novel) and Kure-Nai
Not too sure about publishers. I've not bought any translated novels so far (don't see any at the stores)
Cheers!

My Japanese literacy is pretty bad as well, but there are some great ones out there.
I've a huge fan of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya which is by far the best version of the franchise.
The Welcome to the NHK! novel is really very good, even the Tokyopop translation, which surprisingly has a ton of translation notes and manages to maintain a fair amount of the integrity of the Japanese phrasing and the like (at least as I can understand with my limited literacy).
I'm really looking forward to the Kara no Kyoukai novel, which apparently Del Rey is releasing next year.

NightSwan also said that she wanted to peg me, once, but I'm not sure whether to take that as a compliment or a threat...

Been wondering for some time, what exaclty is a light novel. Can never get a straight answer it seems. It has some pictures but is mostly text? It is all text?

Really!! Thanx for the heads-up. The anime is simply stunning! Hope Del Rey do a good job.

I've been working on the FMA novels (i dont know if one can really call them "light novels" though). So far i have read the first one novel The Land of Sand, and have the second novel The Abducted Alchemist, sitting on my shelf. All the FMA novels are standalone storys that are just side storys to the series.
I plain on reading the Trinity Blood novels sometime (I'm hoping that Tokyopop didnt drop them), and i really want to read the NHK novel aswell (which Crenshinibon made it sound all the more awesome 🙂 ). I dont know when, but im going to work on the Vampire Hunter D novels at some point (but they arnt really "light novels"), and would like to check out the Boogiepop Phantom ones aswell.
Im just slowly getting into reading novels and such (i have tooo much manga on myshelf, that it makes geting around to reading a novel hard 🙁 )
Edit: @ Zaub: A light Novel is a novel that has a lighter amount of text then a "normal" novel does, and also has some pictures troughout it (dont know how many there usaly is tough), so its a much lighter read then other novels, hence being refered to as a "light novel"...or something along those lines.
