And to a lesser extent, Sunrise for the high budget visuals.

Manglobe is perhaps my favorite, even though of their's I've only seen Ergo Proxy and Samurai Champloo. But both of those were extremely well done.

I would like to say Artland as well, because Mushishi is quite frankly the most visually amazing anime out there, but the Reborn anime was done so horribly, I can't even consider them anymore. 😔

Oh, and Production IG, but there isn't much to say about them.

Studio Rikka (Pale Cocoon, Eve no Jikan) is an underground one that I like quite a bit.

But really, as long as it isn't GONZO (barring a couple classics like Gankutsuou), it has a chance at success.

Gibli, of course, but I also have watched a couple of animes by Bonzi(Not spelling it right..), which I'm pretty sure is Japanese, since they have all been fan subs.

I would add Madhouse. But lately I have been dissapointed in animation, I mean, there are really old anime that have better animation than some of nowadays anime series. Ô_Ö

BONES - definitely one of my top favourites, especially for their work on E7.
Gonzo - pre-crappy era. They released some awesome series back the the days.
**Kyo Ani **- I've seen like...almost all of the series they've released and loved them.
Sunrise - Just for doing Code Geass, Witch Hunter Robin, Mai HIME and Gundam 00 xD

I like Bones.

SHAFT! It isn't the best or anything, but I just like their artistic animation technique (read: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei; Ef - A Tale of (...); Maria+Holic, etc.)

Others I like are Bones, Madhouse, Manglobe, Production I.G., J.C. Staff (for Toradora!), and many others.

Well each animation company can have a shot in making a series that you like, though you should be aware of GONZO.

Madhouse - This studio made a lot of great series like Monster, Hellsing Ultimate, Devil May Cry, Texnolyze as well as many works of Satoshi Kon (and most gambling anime like One Outs, Kaiji, Akagi...)
Studio Rikka - I especially like Noisy Birth

I know just a few anime studios; this thread reminds me that I pretty much fail at watching anime. (ι´Д｀)

Ghibli by a mile, I think their films are on a whole different level than most other anime.

Shaft for their tend to play with photoshop too much

Sunrise. A clear favorite. So many great series (Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass and Mai-HiME being my favorite though)

I have fond memories from just about every studio out there though. the ones that tell me something is worth checking out these days are Manglobe, SHAFT, Madhouse, and maybe Production I.G.
