If you are prepared to pay and want to ruin your life, I'd still say World of Warcraft is the best mmorpg out there.
Ugh, no.
PvP is WAY too limited, with a horrible PvP drop system.
Looks like I am sticking to shadowbane 1 until Darkfall comes out 🙁 .
Limited in what sense? i can't even walk around without going all paranoid! and theres battlegrounds/arena...heaps of pvp content IMO.

you can try one of theses :
Nooooooo thanks... I already spent enough time on WoW ><
I quit because it was occupying too much time, since the only thing I really enjoyed was raiding, which is a HUGE time sink. Plus my server's maturity level has dropped precipitously since launch =(

Omg, silkroadonline is HORRIBLE. It looks sorta nice but gameplay is just... BAD. Nothing but grinding and numbers. At lvl 52, I had to kill ~25,000 of something my level in order to level to 53. It was just horrendously boring 🤢 . Nothing but grinding and spamming potions.
Not to mention, IT IS free but they have these cash shop items which you pretty much need to actually get through the game easily (monkeys, exp scrolls). Otherwise, you end up spending too much time on stupid stuff.

I have to disagree xD The PvP was my favourite part of WoW. In my oppinion it's the funnest pvp in an mmo to date. Movement is smooth for a start, as opposed to 50% of the games out there that have clunky (is that a word?) unresponsive movement...
I could rave about it for hours >_<

Huxley and Tabula Rasa are coming out this year. Both share a sci-fi setting, and both look promising. Anyone having any expectations of these games?
Don't waste your time or time will waste you.

does anyone know of games where you dont use the mouse that much. like i hate how in many mmorpgs you use the mouse to attack and walk. i find that so annoying because i cant escape a monsters attack with the mouse control system. this ruined rappzle for me

Trickster FTW =D
i played when it was still with game&game but now its independent so i lost my lvl92 raccoon T-T. I wasn't around when they transfered the characters from old version to new one @@. But I'm thinking of starting again maybe.
Played flyff little over a year ago and at that time there were way too many hackers... But i liked its skill system back then but now they changed it so, i can't be bothered playing it.
I'm playing Tales Of Pirates or TOP now. Its pretty easy to level in, took me a week to get to lvl41 which is when you change to 2nd job. I like this game cause you get a boat to explore and train with so its not just the boring dull ass constant grinding for levels.

Someone having a different opinion on the internet? IMPOSSIBLE!
😛
I tend to like PVP when players everything if they die, or gain everything if they win, with the game not revolving around items.

Out of all those games, I see that Ragnarok Online aint up there. I dunno if you deliberately excluded this from your list or not but it should be up there, even if it is pay to play.
RO is the most played MMORPG out there, it still even beats WoW today.

Looks kinda cool. I signed up for the closed beta, so assuming I get in I'll give it a shot.
I quit WoW 6 months ago after reaching lv 70 with my tauren shaman (oh boy I love tauren, they are so funny and cute). The reason was just because I got bored with the gameplay, never ending reputation grind, raids, honor grind. Second reason shaman keep getting shafted , nerfed each patch XD (my personal rant)
I was an active raider, but u know Ive been in some raid where I almost asleep most the time (sleeping in front of my comp with my left hand on keyboard and right hand holding mouse >.>"), at first it always interesting trying to beat an instance but after 50+ times raiding the same place, yea it became boring at that point. But I must admit WoW is good ,not the best, but definitely not a bad mmorpg.

I stopped playing for this year due to me saving money for a PSP and currently suffering from WoW withdrawal >_< I can't find any free games that would keep me occupied for a while 🙁
Btw, its more like buffs for you guys, not nerfs especially since they gave you dual wield. 😉
p.s /moo 🙂
Get yer asses into Ro private servers or stuff, maybe even into those glitchy WoW privates. I am a RO addict, I am quite fed up with it but can not just stop. I've got Vista
anyways so older games are a pain in ass. If only woyl Micro$oft see the day of bankruptcy. T-T

last patch before I quit they nerfed Winfury so if it proc from MH it cant proc from OH for 3s and that rules also applied to OH, so only once in 3s and the proc rate goes down to like 15% from 20%
