Completely irrelevant (sort of): Is it true that Squenix is "re-making" FFVII for the PS3? I heard that somewhere, but wasn't sure if it was true, or just wishful thinking.

Anybody knows if the Japanese version has English subtitles and English menu?
Or otherwise the English version will have Japanese audio (with English subtitles)?

Basically I wish I could hear the Japanese voice and actors, yet still understand what they're saying. Because I don't really like the English voice actors.

I really hope it isn't bad, I want a ps3 just for this game. Well and Verses, I already have a psp for Agito. x]
But I think they should have made it a little like 12, but with improvements, I like all the cutscenes (very pretty) as long as they're not like every 2 seconds. :/
Either way I'm sure it will keep me quiet for a few weeks haha.

There is a FF Tactics, FFVII and FFVIII for PS3. I've bought FF Tactics from the PS store and it's basically the same game, just adapted for PS3. My guess would be that it'll be the same for the other two. Although, I did heard the there should be some additional stuff in Tactics, but I'm not really sure about that.

Not all of the characters, but I guess it depends on the gamer. I happen to like the male voice actors. There is only one character whose voice acting annoys me a lot and that's Vanille. It's not bad later on but it was horrible for the first few chapters of the story.

IMO FFX-XIIs major fault was the horrible voice actors
square seems to be keen on removing the original voice actors in their oversea releases
why...LEAVE IT IN SO PPL CAN CHOOSE

IMHO, people who complain about English voices are pure weeaboos. Honestly, as if there aren't any bad Japanese voice-actors, roflcoaster. I watch anime quite regularly, and ehm... yeah... To find an outstanding voice-actor (besides the veterans or acclaimed ones) is really hard. The English voice-actors are doing their job just fine, yes, even Vanille's. It's not the voice-actor's fault that she is supposed to have an accent, you know. :/ And if the dialogue somehow seems "weird", then it's most likely lost in translation.

The male voice-actors weren't the only good ones... Snow's was kinda iffy at first. 🤨 Since he has such a cheery voice for a rough-looking guy, but in the end, it suits him. I can't see how you can complain about Fang's. I like her. Lightning's is good too, except for the times when she gets angry and her voice becomes highpitched (happened in the beginning). Sazh is just lkjfdljsf. The voice-actor did a great job with him. Then, there's Serah which was done perfectly too, and she reminds me of Michelle Phan's voice for some reason. Ehm, Hope's was brilliant too. And yeah, Vanille's accent is annoying and you have to get used to it, but she comes from Pulse, so she's supposed to have an accent.

I've been playing the game for 8 hours now and it's been rather
boring gameplay-wise. It's almost been like Crystal Bearers and
that thing never happened. I am honestly just waiting for the GC
movies to start everytime I get to move forward. I can't even
grind ffs. I am just walking forward and getting annoyed by every battle,
since character growth is so strongly limited to plot, so it doesn't
really pay off trying to level in the limited amount of creeps.
