That really just seems to be a sign of public opinion... I had nothing to do with it. Honest. Truly.

And, that human resources guy cares a lot more about who you know (which, if this is at all an accurate case study, may not be your strong suit) than what you majored in. For the most part degrees are just ways to show that you were sane enough to go to college. Which is fine. I'm not going to say that anyone should avoid getting a degree. But they show very little in terms of your actual capability beyond the basic level, which really has nothing to do with intelligence, just training.

I don't know where you are from, or how old are you. but over here, degrees decide if you get the job or not, i can work at any lab since i get my diploma at a nice school.
