If you ever have son/daughter, will you introduce them to manga? And at what age?
I'll make them read one of my age appropriate favorites, and let them decide if it's something they like or not... so yes, yes I will.

If they like it or not, that's completely up to them. x)

Had I any children, I'd make them learn moon runes and read incest manga.
There's a reason I'm not a parent.

hmm im not sure i dont think i would
i would definitely encourage them to read in general
but i dont think i'll ever introduce them to mangas(if find them on their own, thats a different story)
i mean look at me ,most mangas i read are not meant for people my age
i read alot of mature, adult, seinen, josie and psychological
and because i do,i understand and think in ways i shouldnt
dont get me wrong...reading mangas did help me mature alot, which is a good thing, but i dont know if other people would take it as well as i did
ive tried hentai and yaoi out of curiosity and i hated them but i cant guarantee that my son/daughter would do the same if they ever came across them
also, ive read alot of mangas with incest for fun but i would never look at my brother that way,but again i cant guarantee that my son/daughter would do the same

I'll let them find out about it by themselves, if they ever find out about it. : P

Of course I will. I can't just teach them Klingon and Elvish and expect them to grow up to be balanced, normal people now can I?

Probably as soon as they start reading. I'll let them read manga books. but never the online manga's. as long as there's internet, there's rule 34.

Heck yeah, I will introduce/have introduced manga to my kids - whether they like it or not is up to them.
My older boys & I discovered manga together, when they were around 7-8 and I picked up Ranma 1/2 vol. 2 at the library. They're 15 now; they enjoy manga & read what I buy for them (mostly Case Closed and One Piece) but they're much more interested in video games, other books (Gaiman, Pratchett, & some political stuff too), and Wired. (I, on the other hand, have several hundred volumes of manga on my shelves and 30+ GB on my hard drive...)
My youngest is almost 4, and I'm fine with introducing him to manga, but finding something he'd be interested in that would also be appropriate is tricky! Last fall he got interested in One Piece because he saw my older boys reading it; I read him a few volumes but he didn't really understand it so we quit. Dragonball might be a good one to start, I guess, but we have soooo many other books he loves to have me read to him that I haven't really thought about it.
It is important, with little kids, to keep it age appropriate because seeing pictures definitely does have a different impact than reading words (for most people, at least).
"[English] not only borrows words from other languages; it has on occasion chased other languages down dark alley-ways, clubbed them unconscious and rifled their pockets for new vocabulary."

Yes! I think, for example, that these movies by Hayao Miyazaki convey lots of important moral principals with which I mostly agree, so I'd really like to show them to my children someday. Also, I want to share the fun, of course. ^^

Supposing I'll have kids, which I highly doubt would ever happen...
Yeah, sure, why not?
I must be honest in the regard that I prefer reading novels, and since I can't read Japanese, I'm probably missing out on a lot of great title. But nonetheless, manga has its own charm.
I don't see why anyone should limit their offsprings like that.
Manga is just another medium of story-telling, much like books and films, all three exploring different themes and being directed at different audiences.
You'd allow your children to watch tv even though violence and sex are prominent nowadays, let them read books even with the existence of trash such as Twilight, but would deny manga from them just because there're things like yaoi and hentai?
It makes no sense to me.
At what age? shrugs
Probably when the child is able to read on its own.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

Yes, I plan to do so. I'll definitely recommend my favourite ones to them. If they like it will be like having a friend I can talk and share manga. Otherwise it's their loss. I won't force them.

I don't want to have kids. 🤣
Won't make them read unwillingly if I ever have children.
But at the very least, they must know what a manga is.

Hell yes I will. But I shall be sure to be a good parent and only give them age-appropriate material. Which I'll probably have to buy, judging from the content of my manga collection 🤣
I'm curious though, why are so many people saying they wouldn't force it on them? Nobody said anything about forcing it on them, just introducing them to it.
Good question... maybe it's the whole concept of parenting in the first place, which can be/seem tyranical?

Well, I don't think I would. For me it's a past time rather than a hobby, so with kids i'd think I'd forget about manga altogether.
