I'm looking for manga that has a main character that is comical but in a way badass like Ryo Saeba in City Hunter/Angel Heart . It would be also good if it was not you typical shounen manga.

The only manga I think completly fits your requirements (except romance) would be Noblesse. Its not your usual shonen, the art completly changes/evolves after first 30-40 chapters.
The pace is slow in the start so dont let that turn you off.(Read it in one strip format).
Its a character deriven series.
The main protagonist is comical though in strange ways.
