xy manga is licensed in English but only available in e-book format. Your choice?

 • Already own the kindle (or any other e-book reader)
 • Buy an e-reader.
 • Wait (and despair) for the paper version.
 • Keep reading scanlations anyway.
 • Don't have the money for an e-reader; will rely on scanlations.
 • Never gonna buy a device because

Alternate question:
xy manga is licensed in English but only available in e-book format. What should scanlators do?

 • Stop scanlating as usual since it's licensed.
 • Keep scanlating until the paper version is out.
 • Keep scanlating in any case.

I don't know if the questions are good enough to be picked but personally, I'd really like to see the results. I mean, not everyone can or want to afford a kindle just to read manga. And there are (hopefully) some ppl like me who enjoy the mere act of pulling out a book from the shelf and start reading. Besides... manga still mainly consist of pictures. Therefore, I like to see them on paper and not on a screen.

I find that discriminatory for people (like me) with non-24 sleep hour syndrome.

what about:

What do you think of Manga that don't come from Japan? (for example western ones, i.e. Manhwa and Manhua are not meant)

I like reading them in general, but Japanese manga are still the best.
I don't have a preference/like them both.
I read some, but didn't think they were good.
I actually like them better than Japanese manga.
They shouldn't be called Manga! Only the Japanese ones are the true ones.
Never read any.

Do you wish that all manga were done in color? 1. No, black and white is best all the way through, to show the pure art. 2. I like a few front pages done in color. 3. I love reading an entire color manga now and then. 4. If time and costs allowed, I'd like all manga to be in color.

optional... 5. I think with technological advances, art will all be done on the computer, and colorization may become the norm.

(I think it would be cool if some crazed group of fans started a website offering popular mangas colorized by themselves. Not artistic myself. Can't draw inside the lines.)

Would you like to buy Japanese doujinshi in English, too?

 • Yes, definitely!
 • Only if I like the series/art/etc.
 • Maybe, if it's not too expensive.
 • No, not interested.

I would like to know what peoples opinion on scanlation groups that take on too many projects are.
A) one group shouldn't hog all projects
B) many projects at once brings more variety to all
C) a group should finish one or two projects before going to the next
D) as long as the scanlator isn't overwhelmed why not multi-task?
E) as long as it doesn't slow the release of all projects

I don't know if the subject has already been raised, but you could make a poll about AMV -- though it concerns most of the time Anime (duh ! ) and not Manga.

Something like :

AMV...

 • I enjoy watching those related to the Anime I follow.
 • I love them ! I watch them even when I don't know the series involved.
 • THEY'RE PURE ART !
 • Please. I make AMV.
 • I dislike them, they distort the Anime, and they're not even well made most of the time...
 • What's AMV?

If the poll was already used, or if it's not appropriate, nevermind. It's just a suggestion ! 😉
(And please do feel free to improve the turn of phrase if what I wrote seems weird...)

The oldest anime was made in 1917. Do you like to view anime or manga that...? 1. Only came out within the last couple years. 2. Old or new it makes no difference to me if I like it. 3. Old school was much better than this new stuff. 4. Nothing written before I was born. 😉
