Romance in Kekkaishi?

if you are looking for romance then this manga is not you for as there is hardly any at all, which by the way is a good thing as it most romance in mangas are so boring 😮 😢

I would have to say no... you really don't see any other romance development then between those two. Yoshi obviously only likes her. and Tokine is so dutiful she is convinced she has no time for romance.

This next part might need a spoiler tag so I'll use it.
As of 250+ chapters there's really been no development between Yoshimori and Tokine, although it is hinted more and more often than soon enough Tokine will start to like Yoshimori.

It's a shounen manga, plain and simple. That being said, there won't be any real romance in this series.

Its just my personal point of view and some might call me a prude, but I hate Boys Love, never made sense to me and it never will. I have nothing against them though, just dont like it and in Kekkaishi, its a shounen, not a shounen-Ai.
@Calibine, there is romance in Kekkaishi, just as much as you can expect from a shounen that is, you can see the relation development between Tokine and Yoshi throughout the manga, just like in Rave Master, and from very early on in the manga Yoshi admitted he loves Tokine, almost even confessed to her once, however, I m not too sure about Tokine though. In Shounen genre, you dont get more romance that that, you will never get the lovey-dovey thing that you get from Shoujos but Kekkaishi has romance as far as Shounen action mangas allow.

Wow! Chapter 322 was awesome 😀 I couldnt stop grinning. I m happy to see that Yoshimori still hasnt given-up on her and still loves her. For a while, I thought Yoshimori had gotten over his crush on Tokine and moved on since he didnt do much after his "failed confession". Boy am I glad I was wrong. The good thing is, the remarkable change in Tokine as she slowly started to see Yoshimori as a man after the sea-weed prince arc and her way of seeing him has continued to become better, made most obvious when they parted and in this chapter. Tokine x Yoshimori FTW. They are one of my favourite pairs ever in shounen and it would be a real shame if nothing came out of their relationship. I want something like Haru and Ellie from Rave Master.
I just hope it wont end in a tragedy where Yoshimori dies.

Me either! I was so happy to see Tokine and Yoshimori together! I know when he said "I like it the best when you smile" he really wanted to say just 3 words "I Love You" he so shy and cute! Love him. If only there were guys like that in real life xD!
@ Dark mage: me too! If Yoshimori dies i will be sooo sad, I think he'll have to live with Chushinmaru in the world he creates for him or he wont go 🙁 I <3 that kid though x)

dang it i want to read 322 so bad now but I'll wait till 321 comes out
back on topic i can see there being romance and i actually think that if it dose end in tragedy then Tokine will realize that she loves him unless she realizes sooner or tells him sooner 😛

I m glad to see I m not the only one who thought he actually wanted to confess but changed it to "I like to see your smile". Yeah I m pretty sure that he wanted to say those 3 little words and now that I have someone else who thinks the same way, I m more confident.
Anyways, do you think he should've confessed or was what he said more suitable to the occasion? I think its better that he didnt confess now as the condition wasnt really right..well maybe.

Yeah I also have the bad feeling that he will stay back with Chusinmaru as he doesnt want to leave the kid alone and I have a feeling both hs mother and Tokimori kinda already know that as they know how kind-hearted he is. I dont want that but I can totally see this happening because remember the prediction that Kagimiya saw when he touched the girl,where Tokine was crying and arguing with Yoshimori asking him not to do something? I think that prediction still hasnt come true and has yet to happen. So I think it might be Tokine begging Yoshimori not to stay back with Chusinmaru or something like that. Either way, that prediction looked very tragic, so I cant shake off this bad feeling.

they both reeks of lies.. one must sacrifice himself to create the perfect seal while the other one must fight against the most powerful landgod, yet both of them still comforted each other as if not a slightest bad thing gonna happen...-_-
what i'm trying to say is that both of them act way too mature for their age..... adult..
young shouldn't repress oneself too much... it's bad for your mental growth.....
