Closer to Death Note is probably MPD Psycho (according me).

Other suggestions: Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro, Spiral, Kindaichi Case Files, Tantei Gakuen Q, Detective Conan, Ghost Hunt, Shiki (I dled it for the same reason, but I haven't read it yet), maybe Monster (it's more psychological).

A Funeral Procession of K is very good. I know that some of you probablly don't like josei but I think this one you will like. I'ts a psychologic with only two volumes and with chapters very short. It's very easy to read and the characters are really strange... in the end ... I only can tell that the end is very good. Há! And the art has a ghotic style in my opinion...

Tnx for all the suggestions guys, i'll try to take up some of your suggestions pretty soon, lost brain seems really akin to deathnote but i don't see any scanlations, monster seems really awesome as well.

By the way, tnx for recommending CODE GEASS to me, i haven't had this much fun watching an anime since watching deathnote(i originally watched the anime first then read the manga to catch up to the latest episode and finish the story as well).

Yes, my suggestion ruled! ;P But I think that the anime and manga are different though. The anime is better, imo.

Unless u can read japanese, not much of the manga is even been scanned anyway.
