Hi! I just recently joined here. I saw some scanlation groups posting ads for recruiting. I'd like to know the job description for each position, i.e., typesetter, editor, scanlator, cleaner, etc.

And also, I'd like to have an idea how this whole thing works (work flow)?

Do you guys get paid? Or is this just a volunteer work?

It goes like this: Translator translates-->proofreaders proofread --> Quality checker/someone else checks proofreads.
At the same time, cleaners clean--> redrawers redraw (if necessary) -->typers type -->quality checkers check --> distribute to download sites and done.

You won't get paid. It's mostly a hobby for people.
