I don't think I saw such topic, so here I go.
I was curious to see if anybody else attends theatre performances. By theatre I obviously don't mean cinema, but playhouses.
I personally went rarely in the last few years, but now I finally joined the Drama Society club at school, so I'm going to go regularly from now on 🙂 Oh, and when I was little my mother took me to the puppet theatre (or whatever its name is) almost every week 😛

I used to go to a lot of Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, since my violin teacher would always be in the orchestra. I think my favorite was... Iolanthe. And the Pirates of Penzance.
"I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.
I'm very good at integral and differential calculus;
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous:
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern Major-General."
And I just signed up for a Korean theatre class, but I have no idea what it will be like.
Oh yeah I love them.
I haven't been to one recently though. I think the last one I saw was called Wicked a few years ago.
I just don't have the time these days 😔

I see the rehearsals when I do stage construction some times, but to be honest, after a while you just get sick of looking at a stage.
I'm pretty sure that's just me, considering people make their life careers on stage. 🤣

First of all, I would like to express my utmost hatred towards operettas.
My mother dragged me with her once and I almost died.
She knows my stand on musicals. I have no idea why she thought I'd enjoy an operetta.
I prefer classic (orchestra and such) performances.
I don't usually enjoy anything else when it comes to theatres, to be honest.
Hrodulf and Bjornolfr, you will not be forgotten.

The only plays I've seen were of the high school and jr college variety. They were alright for what they were, but I do not feel the need to go to the theater after that. Also, the only musical that I liked was Moulin Rouge; so, I do not plan on seeing a live performance any time soon.

I love them~!!
I grew up listening to the soundtracks, singing along, etc. (though I had some weird ideas of what was going on since I only heard the songs 😀 ).
My sister & her mom used to be in community theater (mostly musicals & melodramas), so I went to a lot of rehearsals & performances when I was a kid. Then when I was older (& in a different town) we went to the local Shakespeare Festival every summer, and some community theater & local university theater productions as well. Also watched quite a few Gilbert & Sullivan productions aired on PBS... Stayed in London for a few months in college & saw some professional musical & non-musical plays, and also saw "Wicked" in NYC this past summer. 😃

I love going to the local theatre, but nothing compares to Broadway (around me). The last play I saw was Avenue Q (so funny 🙂 ) and my favorite play is probably Chicago. Aside from musicals, I like dramas, but I'm more picky about them. And I love almost all of Shakespeare's plays.

I'm a bona-fide theater geek. |D These days I don't have as much time to attend plays, but there's an all-female theater troupe here called The Queen's Company of which I haven't missed a production in the last two years. They're an all-female troupe, and they do classical plays, but they do them with musical numbers and twists that always strangely seem to suit perfectly. It's very much a theater geek's company, and I love it.

I've seen too many performances to count - I used to run around both offstage and onstage a lot.
I like ballet and dance performances the best, but there isn't anything I don't like.
Except Arthur Miller plays.
Recently I went to a murder mystery dinner theatre, and it was really fun.

I love theatre. Well attending performances not acting 🤣 I'm upset because the Phantom of the Opera is being performed in my city but the tickets are like 150 dollars 🙁
Me and my cousin are waiting to see Wicked if it ever comes here. 🙂
