Well, croc's main power they need is turning stone (walls, floors, ceilings etc.) into sand which'll help them get out of level 6 trap, isn't it? After getting out of impel down they'll be enemies once again - it's just a temporary truce.
But i agree, croc's was fighting luffy in Alabasta, sand kingdom, where his power was on the max, and still lost (well, after wiping luffy out twice).
But who knows - he really might get some new powers now.

Croc does not need to be as strong as Luffy, the rest of the strawhats aren't and they're still very important. That's one of my fave things about OP, that characters don't have to be the strongest to be useful.

Just because Crocodile was beaten by Luffy doesn't mean he's weaker. He just has a fatal weakness and Luffy capitalized on it. If it weren't for that, he'd be the ruler of Alabasta, and Luffy would be dead. Unless someone at Impel Down knows that weakness then he's not as effective, but how are they going to know that unless he actually told them how his power works. They didn't even know Buggy had powers.

If anything the reason the World gov't made him a Shichibukai was because they didn't know how to stop him if he went on a rampage and all the damage he'd cause if he did.

With the two (former) Shichibukai, two prisoners and one determine pirate, I can't wait to see how this arc will come to an end.

Now, what I really wanted to know how are they going to get out of Impel and reach to Ace on time? 😕

Sucks that next week will be a taking a break, but conisdering Oda's writing style, I bet it will be worth the wait.

Since they are escaping, It would be awesome if Luffy and his temporary crew would instigate a mass-prison breakout. After all, the more chaos there is, the harder it gets for the Gaolers to get it back under control and the easier Luffy's job becomes to save Ace.

Although I would love to see what happens to the rest of the strawhat crew during this time.
