I don't think I can judge your portraits correctly right now. The reason why is because it I can't tell if you have issues with perspective or it just looks like you do because you took a picture of your art so it just looks a little distorted. Are they scans?

Sadly, I don't own a scanner, I took them with a digi cam

i kno what u mean.....that was my problem today so i said screw it ill make em chibis that way they dont need fingers. ^_^ didnt feel like dealing with it at school. i practice hands at home
lol!! Hooray for chibis!! I love chibis too, you can discard fingers necks and whatever, as long as they're cute :3
Hey, chibis are my favorite drawing pastime, they are small, cute and easy to draw, I think every artist should start from that, chibis
thats how i am with faces. my friends will notice if their a little off but i wouldnt till a few min. later. now im 2 a point where m constantly changing something untill my friends finally tell me 2 leave it alone and how much they luv it.......i try not 2 touch em after that but its so hard T_T ^_^ lol
My problem on the face are the eyes, if both eyes are not properly lined and look at the same spot it bugs me so much erase it and redraw till I get it right
i didnt start with chibis....i started with pokemon 😀 😀 and the eyes r my biggest problem on the face 2. i cant tell u how many times i erased eyes today.....cuz i dont kno myself heehee ^_^

omg momo10: I can totally relate!! I started with Pokemon and Sailormoon drawings, I used to think the the eye style in pokemon were the best >D ah, foolish me.
and in general, I find position of facial features to be quite a challenge, if it isn't in the perfect spot then it "distorts" the face >3< it takes me a while to locate the features and then I start the shading. But soon after I find that either the eye or the nose is misplaced, and I end up erasing all my shading in that area and starting over. Or sometimes, I just get lazy and leave it, and hope no one notices XD

I thought that was the problem. You should get a scanner because with the right they would be more appealing because they would be seen how they should be seen ,straight on.
For the other ones I like the way you color your art especially in The Colours of Happiness. You are clearly very talented.
I think you should consider entering the mascot contest here.

i suck at shading T_T sigh just another thing i need 2 work on along with feet T_T it took me a while 2 get the general idea of where everything goes. i usually end up spending a whole class period just trying 2 perfect eyes enough 2 where nobody can notice

my parents are thinking of buying me a scanner/printer/copier-all-in-one plus a laptop when I get into university. So I gotta wait till September next year T___T so far away.
I used my friend's scanner to scan on my drawings before, but her scanner takes alot out of my drawing, almost to the point where you can only see blacks and whites, so my shading diminishes D:
and yes, that contest, I've stumbled across the thread, and I'm very interested :3
@Veltwolfsleer: can you be more specific on my proportion flaws? I want to improve, and I hope to go at it in the right direction. and wow, CG tips, I really don't think I'm in a good position to give out advice, I'm not all that great. If you go on Deviant art, you are bound to find TONS of CG tutorials made by people much more skilled than me. But just a fact, I got better at CG after I learned to draw realistic portraits

Your awosome, I wish I could do even half as well as you! Your realistic drawings need a little bit of work but it looks great and at least it's not like you can't tell who it is you're trying to draw.

well its not one thing it varied in you work in some you had hands to big and the body to small or the head to big and the body almost tiny. try drawing the basic shape of a person in various pose. when i mean basic i mean dont even go beyond making the body frame from shapes. just do quick little sketches in you spare time till you think the body looks even. beyond this i cant advise you more.

Thank you, the analysis was very helpful! ^_^
I guess this is mostly because I was very used to drawing anime style, and when I drew in that style I didn't really keep in mind all the proper proportions and stuff. I'll work on this more in the future, and hopefully I can see some progress in my work, thanks again
