I watched the anime. Is the manga worth it?

GTO, Hellsing, Tenjou Tenge, and Trigun.these anime don't even scratch the surface of their respected manga.

Black Lagoon I find feels better when reading the manga. There supposed to be speaking English, but whenever a phrase comes up that wasn't translated into Japanese, the accent comes through evidently. I do both, but I prefer the manga slightly because of that issue.

elfen lied manga is pretty good IMO
i heard the anime ending was better thoughjust finished kashimashi, like just 2 min ago, it's pretty good, but i have to say it's not really amazing in any aspect...
it doesn't really do me much good to hear that they're good. I've watched the anime versions already and enjoyed them. What I'm trying to deduce is whether reading the manga in addition to having seen the anime is worth my time. Thanks anyway though.

Well, with Ikkitousen, there are some differences between the anime and manga. Like how in the manga (or it could be the other way around) that it centered more around the female characters, and that the main character boy was in love with his cousin(?)... I don't remember quite clearly though.
Well, the anime was already fairly centered around the female characters and that one guy (I wouldn't call him the main character, he was just that kind of lame dude who hung out with the hot chicks) all ready kinda did seem to have a thing for his cousin, though it wasn't really ever focused on for anything other than cheap ecchi. Thanks for trying to help though.

I've already completed Hellsing and am reading Tenjou Tenge. I'd agree in both cases about the manga being better, though in the case of Tenjou Tenge it's just because it cuts off abruptly without anything ever happening. The new Hellsing OVAs are probably as good or better than the Hellsing manga in my opinion, even if the original anime was far beneath it.
GTO doesn't really interest me too much (not that it's bad, just not exactly my sort of thing); I'm only really watching it currently because my cable's on demand service is getting it.
Trigun, though I might consider.

Well, hmm. With Black Lagoon, I've been watching the anime with the English dub, so they actually are speaking English. Don't know how relevant this makes the issue. It's good to know though.

I prefer the Black Lagoon manga over the anime. A lot. Like KennEH! already mentioned, I find the Japanese dub to be horrible, what with all the Engrish around. The English dub I cannot rate, for I don't watch Eng. dubbed anime at all. Also, I don't like the use of CG in anime, and the fact that it's not a one-to-one story port doesn't help it either. I remember the whole Yakuza arc to be different in the manga (I think it had something to do with how much manga material was available at the time they made the anime).
It's the perfect time to start reading, with Anonymous Spore back in action, pumping out chapters every other day. Oh yeah, you should definitely read it from the beginning, for the in-depth experience. If you don't like it, you can still wait for season three to air and then continue. It shouldn't have an impact on your view on the franchise as a whole. Anyway, just my two cents...

Well if the Japanese voice work is really that horrible I might start the manga. I've found the English dub, especially the main cast, to be quite good as far as dubs go, and given the feel of the show and the characters, English actually really fits. However, when season 3 comes around I'm gonna wanna watch it with subs because I'm too impatient to wait for the DVDs. So perhaps I should start the manga so as I can get full enjoyment out of the series without having to wait.

just simply have a thought process, why would a manga become animated? cause its good .. its rare to have the counter part better then the manga.. but still i go for it

Yes that's logical (though sometimes not so good manga get made into anime too), But again I'm not asking if these manga are good or not, just whether they are worth reading having already experienced them once in animated form.

The anime version of Soul Eater is very faithful to the manga version, so it's up to you on whether or not you want to read the manga. That being said, there are some differences. The manga doesn't have those weird Excalibur filler episodes that the anime has and the tone is slightly darker in certain cases but that's about it. I haven't followed the anime after episode 25 or so but if I remember correctly, the anime also paces things slightly differently by putting nonessential stuff that happens in later chapters in between arcs. However, I'm not certain if that was a one time thing or not. I do slightly perfer the manga because of said darker tones and because it's further along in scanlations than the anime.
I think I've seen about 5 mins of the anime Negima before I deleted the episode in disgust. The manga is vastly better; however, that's really not saying much. I find the manga to be pretty average - the beginning is pretty terrible with Negi seemingly sneezing and blowing off the clothes of various girls every single chapter. It does get better later but it's still vastly overrated.
