Technicalities aside, I like the standard blue that it is now.

Yes it is; it's ultra violet that isn't part of the visible light spectrum. Saying that violet can't be seen by human eyes (which is what you're saying) is like saying red isn't part of the visible light spectrum either; it's infra red that humans can't see without aids. When the wave frequency gets above or below a certain amount of Hertz, people can't see it anymore, but violet is still within the range of what people can see.
Personally, I would love for the sky to be violet; bright enough to see and dark enough to be able to sleep properly.
It's interesting to see that most people opted for the standard blue.

Grey. I like it when the sky is grey.
But a single solid? Come on, that's just boring no matter what color you pick.

Maybe I'm unoriginal but I like blue just fine, the sky wouldn't be the sky if it weren't blue. 😃

Torn between orange and violet, but I chose violet.
It'd be very pretty if the sky were the color of violet. It'd give me melancholic feelings.

Since you're asking for a solid color, I'll stick to blue. Blue's one of my favorite colors. I don't think there's a shade that I don't like. I would have said pink,violet, blue, orange and yellow if you asked for color combinations.

No no. Black is the right choice and it should preferably rain every night with a bit of wind on top for atmospheric effect. It´s so calming.
Red sound vaguely interesting too but that is the superhero fan talking in me.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.

Pinkish red skies every day! When there was a fire in my neighborhood, the skies were red as blood while the sun was setting. It was beautiful.
