Israel and the whole middle east fiasco

So guyz i wanted to know your opinion on the whole israel/palestinian issue thats been going for ages. Who do you think is to blame? Should Israel immediately stop its settlement plans in occupied East Jerusalem and other places that is not a part of Israel? does Israel really want peace? Should America get involved at all? What do you think of america's recent change of view regarding israel and how it wants Israel to stop its settlement plans? Do you think Israel has any power over american foreign policy regarding middle east and do you think it has any power at all in america? So guyz lets hear what you think. try to keep it respectable...I am from New Zealand and found this issue really interesting and cannot really make up my mind about what can or should be done and whoz in the wrong and what not so would like to hear your opinions.

Man calm down. Some guyz atleast some people i have talked to told me that palestinians are the original instigators of this issue and as long as there are factions present within the palestinian people that wish to bring harm to Israel(firing rockets etc) there will be no peace for the palestinians. Sorry if i phrased that part wrong but man you could just point that out, needa calm down ai.

Why even ask the question? You've seen how angry people get when a Naruto chapter doesn't go the way they expected. Why the hell would you ask about one of the biggest issues in the world today and not expect hostile comments?
On the topic, I will just say that both sides have claim to the land, as both sides have sacred places in Israel. Honestly, I don't think that this will every truly be resolved.

The Palestinians have been screwed over for years. Israel should never have been created where it was and America needs to stop blindly listening to whatever they tell us. Its definitely a shitty situation for both sides, but nothing is ever going to change until people begin to realize that Israel is pretty fucked up as far as its government goes.

I don't think the spiral of violence will stop in this generation.
There isn't any side which is "right" but I have to say I feel pity for Palestinians and how they are forced to live.

Muslims, jews and christians were living together in Jerusalem peacefully. the trouble all restarted after WW2 when britain stepped in and issued the balfour declaraion. they gave power to the zionists. i have met with jews at protest demonatrations. they are also against Israel. most people don't realise the difference between jews ands zionists.
america only gets involved when there is profit involved. it never goes to the defence of the people that really need help. the UN as well. there are so many poor and war-torn countries in africa but do you see america jumping to help them out? they should just stay out of the middle-east. they only get involved if they can benefit or if its a 'muslim threat'. they only make things worse & rape the country and its resources as much as they can- like in iraq & afghanistan.

That's basically the gist of it.
You can also add in stuff like how skewed the Israeli govt is (basically, they're divided into right-wing hardliners and extreme-right wing hardliners... they may say that they have moderates, but they don't), Israel's Apartheic policies towards it's own non-jewish citizens, how much of American congress is Influenced by hardline Zionists and oil conglomerates...etc.
The Palestenian govt isn't exactly peace loving either.

I have journalist friends that have lived in homes of both Israeli and Palestinian folk. Most are just as hospitable and warm as the nice people in your own nation, so starting out with something retarded like "do the Palestinian people deserve peace" is extremely insulting towards any peace loving person.

Yep, I agree with gan and pinkdreamer. US only aids when there's profit in sight.
In the old days (WW2) and even now(?), there were a lot of Jewish people who belonged to America's wealthiest (because the Jews happened to be very active in trade -- one of the "reasons" Hitler threw at the Germans to hate on them, since they didn't really manufacture anything of their own, but just "haggled" goods that other people made. That's another issue altogether though.)
Anywho, those rich Jewish folk happened to be (mainly) Zionists, so after WWII ended, the Alliance felt guilty towards the Jews (and wanted to please those rich Jews too), so they wanted to give them a country. I think another option instead of Palestina would have been a part of Cuba, iirc, but the Jews didn't want that. They wanted the place that was mentioned in their religious books since Jahweh promised it to their people. And yeah, Muslims, Jews and Christians lived relatively peaceful before WWII. =___=
Also, I might've jumbled some facts through each
other. My memory of this stuff is kinda hazy.

The other way around, Israel is the one of the only countries in the Middle East with Nukes. The scenario where Israel is backed into a corner, by loss of allies and mounting enemies, then nukes half the middle east is much more likely than them getting nuked.
Even with all the bs about Iran... even if Iran did make a huge technological leap forward and produce their own nukes. A country based on Islamic Law isn't going to nuke the second holiest place on earth to them.
