So, now that it is 2:30 in the morning and i have successfully been up for longer than i would like to acknowledge i thought i would finally (yes, thats right) finally introduce myself and use this site for something more than lurking and my own personal recruitment site (shameful i know - but i'm on the track to recovery).

my name is urdzy, its a name that i have had for about 10 years (give or take). its a combination of the character name 'urd' from ah! my goddess and 'zy' because 10 years ago i thought adding a 'zee' sound to things made them sound cute. if it still holds true or not is up for your discretion.

as far as what i hope to gain from introducing myself - nothing much really -- finding new friends, learning new things, hopes to conquer that blank space to the left under the 'RSS Feed' and fill it with something -- you know, the usual.

and now for something interesting~
here's a true (albeit humiliating) story about me--
so it was about 4 years ago, and at the time i was a catering coordinator for this really awesome bakery company. (pretty much i would organize huge events for 500+ people).
so it was a bright and shiny spring day, and at the time i was driving this cute 'lil mitsubishi eclipse (it had a sunroof, great sound, and a pretty good get-up-and-go). well, i was on a delivery/set'up- so i had all my windows down the sun-roof back and was enjoying my spring day ride. (also i was carting around a BUNCH of cookies so my car smelled great~ ^^)
so i park my car underneath this great big beautiful tree-get out-and make the delivery inside the building. the set-up goes great, and the party is a hit.
so, time to go back to headquarters---
so i get in my car-and by this time i have missed lunch by quite a few hours: i was hungry. and i look over to where i had had these awesome white chocolate/milk chocolate cookies that were in my front seat and i see that one of them had melted some of its chocolate onto the seat. so, me being the hungry person that i was swapped up the chocolate with my finger and let it linger in my mouth.
that was when disaster hit.
a terrible taste came rolling over my tongue.
i quickly opened my door and started spitting and gagging at this horrible taste! what could it be?? my first reactions was "oh $@#! something is wrong with the cookies!" and i thought my career was surely over. and as i finished scraping my tongue i sat back as the tears started to well up in my eyes- for i did truely like this job. i wiped the tears away as the wonderful spring day tried to impede on my unhappiness-flowers were blooming, the wind was blowing, the birds were singing--
the birds were singing...
i looked up~
and here is where realization hit me of what must have happened.
me, in all my happy-skippy spring-type days, had parked under a tree-with my sunroof down--
thats right, my oh-so-not-delicious chocolate was not chocolate at all~
but a present from the birds.

and the moral of this story?
spring-time is the devil.
