For some of those I think you really need a controller or something to hold.

Considering how well the Wii motion tech works even with a controller, I am skeptical of how well the Xbox motion tech will work without even a controller...

I'll check out the videos, but I am just not too hopeful... Half the time for most of the games the Wii nunchuck doesn't work all that well. You just need to swing it wildly in hopes that you get the right motion. Anyone remember Red Steel?

What a bummer that was! It looked like it would be such an awesome game until I played it and found out that it didn't really matter how you shook your nunchuck... The damn katana would do whatever it wanted regardless...

Not to mention it would've still have been a garbage game even IF the control system actually worked right. Very few games would be able to take advantage of the current primitive, imprecise motion sensing technology.

Quote from greydrak

... with the wii there's the add-on device that'll make the motion sensing more accurate, so instead of flailing around aimlessly we can hope to see proper flailing soon...

Hurrah for "Wagging-Stick Fu 2.0" 🤣
Nicely put though I can't seem to grasp how these sticks can be 'properly' implemented. These motion controls try to be intuitive yet strangely the only groups the fail to alienate (that I've seen from personal experience --- yes it is subjective... please don't roast me for this comment) are the new market of 'casual gamers' and young children.
